Mario shows us that the Veteran will make changes and old Specials could ne normal attacks. i think there are some possibiliys:

Bowser Claw (B-> Forward) could be a Normal Grab even in the Air and also an Attack.
Peachs Bomb (B-> Forward) could be her smash attack.
DKs Down+B could know be his Smash+A+Down.
Kirbys Hammer could be his A+Forward and his Aerial+Forward+A Attack.
Captain Falcon's Raptor Boost could be his Aerial+Forward+A Attack.

That would be great becauce all of this moves are bad.

I like the idea, but I don't really think that it will happen all that often. It could make each character much more unique, but such uniqueness makes characters harder to balance. Standardized movesets like jabs and similar ground attacks help in balance and add more skill the the gameplay; you have to time and aim correctly, as well as have good knowledge of range, priority, lag, etc. If every other move had special features it would be less of a fight and more of a fireworks show.

Hey, just say you disagree and that you think it is a bad idea. No need to be rude to someone who isn't hardcore about the game. Besides, no one knows how Brawl's Falcon will play... he might still have Da Knee, he might have something stronger, or he might be so different that the knee is not present and doesn't need to be. Back up your statements with reasons instead of insults. I'm really not trying to be a prick here, but I just can't stay silent when I see something so blatantly inconsiderate to other people's opinions.

A big no to the falcon idea, the falcons fair is what makes him in melee. Plus I don't think we should be hoping for that many character changes

(though the peach bomber should be more of a smash). Give her some of the SPP emotion attacks).

You deserve to be knee'd and electrocuted for this blasphemy.

What else logic is there besides the obvious?

It's the f***ing knee. I mean, come on!

G-regulate ftw

I don't think he was thinking about the Caps knee when he said that.

I was thinking something along the lines of this. Aerials give more B(Special) moves.

I made something like this on my Krystal move set where her ground forward B is different from her aerial forward B.

Change that Falcon thing and polish it up a little bit and you might have something here.

I'm not sure I agree with your particular choices, but I was thinking of making a similar topic. There shouldn't be any special movies that all they do is attack. Kirby's hammer very obviously does not deserve to be a special attack and should just be made into the smash attack and neutral aerial.

But, other than Kirby's... I'm just not sure if I can agree with you. Those other moves actually do something special, so that'd just be stupid to turn them into normal attacks... though I suppose I could see DK's down B being turned into a smash attack, if you weren't able to tap it to keep it going.

Other moves that make sense... hmm. No, mostly I hate Kirby's hammer. I think we can all agree there were better options there.

Well, the one character that we know that has had this happen to is Mario. Im gonna discuss him for a sec.

Mario's tornado is no longer his down b, it is now his down a. We have seen his upair, neutral air, and forward air (melee replicas) in screenshots. Im not sure about his backair, but the mario tornado is not going to be his back air I would put a million dollars on it.

So we lose the drill, we get the tornado instead. But we also get fludd, which is a plus.

Drill vs Tornado. which is better? Anyone?

Ding ding ding, the drill. Less lag, faster, and not ridiculous easy to DI out of. Drills go into grabs, they go into uptilts, they go into a whole variety of setups. The mario tornado does jack all except recover from time to time, and OCCASIONALLY mindgame the opponent if you use it in a random spot.

So that sucks. But its worth it for F.L.U.D.D, I have a feeling that baby is gonna put a whole new spin on mario, who was always average in terms of power in melee.

I also hope that they take the stregnths of doc, and the stregnths of mario, and we combine them. A forward air that KOs, a forward smash with range instead of raw power and no range... etc.

I imagine they will be doing this with a few characters, but I do not welcome this change in the slightest. The way I see it, you can change the B moves without having to delete A moves.

I'd just like to add that is it a 100% surefire thing that Mario's Tornado is going to be his Aerial Down A? How sure are we?

(just playin' the Devil's Advocate here :) )

about 90% sure. It can either be his back air, or his down air. Back air isn't going to be a spiny attack, back airs are attacks that attack backwards.

It cant be his nair fair or uair because we saw all of them in the trailers, and various screenshots. I watched the movesets more closely than anything, but I didnt think his tornado would end up an A attack.

Who says it HAS to be an A attack? HMMM? Maybe you can exchange some Special moves? Maybe each character has multiple Special moves? Or some of them?

(Not saying this is the case. Again, Devil's Advocate....LOL)

He still seems to have this move, though.
Eh? Is it a normal attack?!
Sure, it sounds like he's being mysterious. But look at this

Sakurai said:
Rumor has it they can use those wings to sail through sky like gliders. But that can’t be true, can it?
Its pretty obvious that he meant it's a normal attack. Play devil's advocate all you want, I dont see aside from full confirmation from sakurai himself, how I could make my argument any better.

Seriously, this is some good stuff ^^

surely if you hit the ground before the tornado is finished it will cancel out the end part of the attack making it very similar to the drill?

On making Falcon's fair a B attack:

This could actually work, though making it the raptor boost would be horrible, for both the knee and the raptor boost. Hear me out here, tapping forward + A (or c-stick forward) could still preform the knee, however holding A and charging the attack could 'power up' the knee into an improved version of the Falcon Punch (let's face it, if you were to use the FP it would be from the air anyway). That way C.Falcon could gain an additional B move, at least one that hopefully doesn't suck like most of his others...

That could be the case for some characters, I believe. Oh, and replacing Captain Falcon's knee is stupid. It's his only good finisher and it's sweet when you land it. It's a good thing some of you guys aren't in development for this game.
