no different characters depending on color, that is... just too much.

but different colors, are a must, and the trainer could undergoe a change

If they were going to add more than one trainer, then this one would have been called Red or something and not just Pokemon Trainer.

Anyone who thinks that another pokemon trainer would make for too many reps is an idiot. the trainer is the best possible way to represent pokemon in brawl, because pokemon is a team-based game. nobody ever uses just one pokemon in the actual game.
i'm indifferent to pokemon. i'm no fanboy, but i do enjoy it from time to time, but i tend to get bored halfway through. it seems to me that a lot of people are saying "no to more pokemon" when, really, it doesn't get any more characters that zelda, which, considering it's one of nintendo's most popular games, is perfectly fine.
personally, i would be fine seeing another trainer, and jigglypuff, making 4 pokemon characters. that's not really too much, is it?
now shut up, and i swear to god, if you say that pokemon trainer is 4 characters in itself, i'm going to fork you.

good thing its not ash then.

personally, I'd prefer to see mewtwo get back in over another trainer. I'm fairly certain jiggs will make it back. and i also reckon sakurai will opt to include at least one more pokemon from a later generation (probably lucario due to the fact that he is really popular and that the franchise has sort of made him the 4th gen mascot, but there are many other good choices as well). when you think about it, this is only one more pokemon rep than they had in melee, and four more actual pokemon. pretty good bang for your buck if you ask me.

to all the pokemon trainer haters out there, STFU n00bs. this is an awesome and really unique character that would have been difficult to do with almost any other character, without making it feel gimmicky and forced.

You Pokemon Trainer haters out there can go smoke a fish. If I have to listen to another "OMG this character is so lame, why would they waste precious time putting in characters I don't like when they could spend it adding characters that I DO like?"
Brawl was supposed to come out in march. They've had *plenty* of time to add ALL the characters that SAKURAI wants in the game. And clearly, Sakurai *really* likes the Pokemon Trainer.
Bottom line is, the Trainer is the best way to represent Pokemon in Brawl. If you want to refute that, make sure you back it up. If I hear any more "no, Pokemon Trainer's lame, and I don't need to back up my facts."... I swear to god, I'll be so angry.

In my opinion, PTs going to be..... OK. It IS going to get annoying looking for a WiFi battle, come across three 7-year-olds, they see my character and go "Nooooooo. You GOTTA use POKEMON TRAINER!!!!!! HE'S THE BEST!!!!! CHOOSE HIM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!" And then I leave, find a new game, Three DIFFERENT KIDS all playing PT going "Nooooooooo!!!! Use PT or we'll pwn you!!!"

And the cycle goes on, and on, and on, and on......

yeah, but on wi-fi anything will be lame.

i am an uber supporter of... real competition happens on single consoles, smash is too fast for the game to run smoothly w/o lag, not that i'm not gonna play it online, but there are also going to be a ton of characters that are going to seem overplayed... which will be nice because hopefully the rediculous number of characters will keep the tier list close(as if larger casts ever did that, haha)

Different trainers would be cool but different pokemon (totodile, mudkip, piplup etc) would be too much...

I'm betting they add a costume that gives all the pokemon their shiny colors XD
