Most villains in Fire Emblem have deep stories - Nergal comes to mind, for instance. And no, he isn't the only one to appear in more than one game - at the very least, the dark priest Garnef and the Dragon King Medeus appeared in both the first and third Fire Emblems, and I believe I heard from those more familiar with the Japan-only ones on the old NSider Fire Emblem boards that there were other recurring villains in those. The Black Knight however has a deep story and is the only villa in the whole FE series that has appeared in more than 1 game.
You're going to be disappointed (certainly in the latter, probably in the former as well) then - Mia is a very minor character. She doesn't even have any importance in the story of Path of Radiance. Making her playable would be the equivalent of making Malon from Zelda: Ocarina of Time playable.I believe that the black knight has a good chance to be in brawl, but I'd really like to see mia, seems to me that she'd be a faster but weaker marth...
Finally someone with sense on including FE characters and has actually played more than one FE game. You're going to be disappointed (certainly in the latter, probably in the former as well) then - Mia is a very minor character. She doesn't even have any importance in the story of Path of Radiance. Making her playable would be the equivalent of making Malon from Zelda: Ocarina of Time playable.
The way I see it, we have Ike confirmed, and Marth with every reason to stay and no reason to leave, giving us two FE characters. A third is probable due to the series' popularity in Japan and importance to Nintendo and gaming as a whole (Fire Emblem began the tactical RPG genre amongst video games), though I personally doubt we'll see a fourth due to its merely modest popularity internationally. There are many character options for that third slot - Fire Emblem has 10 games, most with multiple Lords and only two with recurring ones, and of course theres the off chance of a villain being selected. Sigurd's popularity in Japan makes him a likely candidate, Micaiah may be selected as a Radiant Dawn add and magic-wielder, Hector could be chosen as an axe-wielder from the first international FE, Roy has the off chance of not being pulled, and you go on through the ranks of potential Lords and villains (even eliminating the two or three least popular games, its an impressive array). Among all that, why on earth would any non-Lord or non-villain stand a chance of being playable?

Don't get your hopes up on seeing Boyd, Mia, Nephenee or Stephan unless of course your thinking of Fire Emblem AT additions.More specifically: Boyd with Thunder Axe, Mia with Wind Sword, Nephenee with the Fire Lance, Stephan with Vague Katti, and Black Knight with his good ol' Alondite...
Boyd would never make it as a playable character with Hector around.I'll give you Boyd and Black Knight, but otherwise you're going too far.
Could you please tell me how many characters are "needed" for each and every franchise? Marth and Roy provided a nice introdution of Fire Emblem outside of the Japan. With Fire Emblem's increased popularity outside of Japan; they are deserving of one more character slot (3).No, Ike and Marth will be enough for Brawl. There isn't anymore needed FE characters unless they were bosses.
Sorry Mia is not going to be in. With the conformation of Lyndis as an AT Mia would never get in over her as a playable Character.I believe that the black knight has a good chance to be in brawl, but I'd really like to see mia, seems to me that she'd be a faster but weaker marth...
Oguma most likely will be an AT; Sigurd is the only likely older FE character to make a playable appearance (barring of course Marth). Ayra won't be playable or an AT since Lyndis was confirmed as an AT. Lyndis is overall more important to FE7 than Ayra was to FE4. Soren will be an AT at best. With Mikaya around he doesn't stand a chance of being playable. Sothe isn't important to Radiant Dawn past the first part. He doesn't stand a chance next to Mikaya. I think the female from FE3 you may be talking about is Sheeda? She'd most likely be an AT and perhaps swoop down to attack on her Peg Knight.-Hector
-Oguma
-Sigurd
-Ayra
-Soren
-Sothe
-Micaiah
-Black Knight
-Some female from FE3 (forgot the name
I did as well (she was one of my top 4 characters, alongside Sonic, Isaac, and Krystal), but theres no changing that now unfortunately. Might as well move on and hope for the best in her place.I personally thought that Lyndis should have been a playable character instead of just a trophy, but I guess that's just me...
Enough to not make Brawl full of random Fire Emblem lords, that's what.Could you please tell me how many characters are "needed" for each and every franchise?
I'm not saying they shouldn't have one more slot, I was speaking that the only thing that was needed was two characters to represent the series. Marth was the first FE lord, simply because of that he really does need to stay. Ike is the current one, kinda like what Roy was in Melee, but a lot more original and important. Any other FE character would be fine with me, honestly, just as long as they literally don't take up a huge part in the roster in Brawl as most FE lords are pretty much similar in style or they don't hold that much importance compared to other FE lords in the whole series.Marth and Roy provided a nice introdution of Fire Emblem outside of the Japan. With Fire Emblem's increased popularity outside of Japan; they are deserving of one more character slot (3).
