Thank you! I've been trying to moonwalk forever and can't do it well or consistently. Gonna go practice this ****.

Thank you very much, sir. I've been trying to get Moonwalking down, and have failed pathetically multiple times. Hopefully this will help.

Some good stuff here. I really appreciate what you do for the Falcon community (or just the community as a whole, I am just speaking from what I've seen you post here).

Keep it up man, I'm sure this is helpful to many aspiring Falcons.

I understand that you have to get from point A to point B without passing neutral, but what is the best/fastest way to get there?

Do I have to hit every side of the octogon when doing the semicircle method, or can I take a more direct route with straighter lines, provided I don't go through the neutral position? I can moonwalk a little, and have no clue how you guys can moonwalk off edges. Perhaps what I need is sheer speed. Whoa, lots of e's in that sentence.

What exactly defines the neutral position? It's probably a little circle, but how big is it? How much leeway do I have when moonwalking?

In theory, as long as you get the control stick to the other end fast enough without going through the neutral position, you should do a full moonwalk, correct? I mean, I'm really not that great at moonwalking, but sometimes I can get a full one even though I don't necessarily use the path shown in the diagram. I think it's mostly speed if you don't instinctively follow the path in the diagram.

Awesome, thanks. I was looking for that diagram.

So is the direct route the way most people do it? It's gotta be tough to get that line of action down consistently.

Also, does the stick have to be all the way to the opposite direction to get maximum moonwalking? I've found that if I'm even a little lower, like where the green arrow ends in that diagram, it won't work as well.

I do the full half circle, I never got the direct route to work consistently. But I never actually apply moonwalking, I never think to do it in real matches but it's not a big deal.

I do a kind of weird combination of the half-circle and direct route. And like Walt said, it's not necessary for real matches, but it can be a decent mindgame or just something to make your Falcon look a little flashier.
And you do need to get the stick all the way to the opposite side for the moonwalk to work, if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise, you'll just crouch cancel (if you only swing the stick to the bottom), or you won't have enough momentum to finish the moonwalk.

I guess I just gotta work on my speed, then!

Lately I've been a fan of that sticky walk crap (perform a moonwalk, and then do the semicircle thing back to the initial dash direction). If anything's flashy and pointless and awesome to impress your friends, it's that.

lol sticky walking can mess with people who've never seen it in a match. Moonwalk Falcon Punch/Knee is probably my favorite flashy thing to do with Falcon. Moonwalk taunting is pretty lulzy, too.

it's just about how fast you get to the other side guys....this isn't brain surgery. Going the more direct path will allow you to theoretically get there the fastest possible but you can still just do the regular half circle very fast and get a really good moon walk out.
