Smash Lord
Well, I searched, and was surprised to see no Monkey Island thread. One of the best game series ever, lol.
Tales of Monkey Island Episode 4: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood
Release Date: October 14
If you are unfamiliar with the series, it is an adventure/puzzle game about a pirate named Guybrush Threepwood, filled with some sardonic and witty humor. If you've ever played Psychonauts, the same writer from that, Tim Schafer, also worked on writing Monkey Island games, just to give a frame of reference.
There's no game over, you can't die, so there are no repercussions for exploring. Much like in Zelda, wherever you go will not make you stuck; you can always move forward.
Despite the light-hearted humor, the games can often take a dark undertone, such as with the back story of LeChuck, and perhaps even philosophical insights disguised as jokes (lol but not very often). Also, all of the puzzles will likely help with critical/creative thinking (though, again, much like Zelda, the puzzles become easier as the series goes on for some reason)
Here is a list of the games, complete with links to their Wikipedia articles to read a bit more about them.
The Secret of Monkey Island (1990)
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (1991)
The Curse of Monkey Island (1997)
Escape from Monkey Island (2000)
Tales of Monkey Island (2009)
