Momentum shift with peanut gun cancel?

How you do those momentum shift with the peanut gun cancel. I know how to change the side that Diddy is looking using the peanut gun cancel, but I can't make diddy moves fast to that new side after doing the peanut gun cancel. How do you do that?

I already asked and the answer was:
Charge the peanut gun, then push analog stick to the oposite direction to which Diddy is facing, and then cancel popgun.
That is probably the right input, but it isn't working for me. Any tip about timing or something?

hold B>tap back immediately>hit Z
If your too late tapping back you wont do anything, if your too soon by a tad youll side b or do a turnaround popgun

Also, depending on how fast you do the inputs, diddy will do the beginning frames of the popgun and then return to the normal falling state, or he'll air dodge.
Weird right?

Also you need to have momentum in a horizontal direction for this to reverse your direction with a bounce effect.

Thanks for all those tips guys.
Reading what you said, I got a couple of questions:
- The cancel should be done with Z (grab button) or L-R (shield button)? (I use mi shield button, L)
- And Kantrip, you just said that I need horizontal momentum in order to get a a bounce effect. How can I get it in practice mode? A monkey flip would work? Till now I was practicing it jumping from the top right platform of Temple (melee stage)... do you know a better way to practice it?

PD: I am out of town till wednesday, so I won't be able to practice till then.

It can be done with Z or L/R, I think most people use L/R. Horizontal momentum just means you need to be moving while in the air, you can't just stay in the same horizontal space in the air and see it.

I use Z to do it so it creates a mental barrier for when I'm peanut cancelling and when I am airdodging/attacking in the air (L is set to attack). Wavebouncing with peanut cancel is the only time I use Z in the air.

Yeah, you can monkey flip and do it to notice the effect, or you can just make sure you're drifting in the air when you try it. I throw random wavebounced peanut cancels in all the time when I play, so it's like a second nature input for me now.

I got this.
Today morning I could do it. It has to be pretty fast like you said.
Thanks.
