I just started playing Fox, so please bear with me if these questions are a bit "noob"ish

1. For the "Firefox Stall", all that you do is drop off the ledge and then quickly ^B? Then slightly tilt towards the stage to latch back on? It doesn't really seem like a stall to me >_>

2. I'm having lots of trouble hitting with my Uair. Usually I only get the outer "weak" hit, and only get the real hit about 10% of the time. Any tips to improve my accuracy?

3. Is there a way to shorthop with the control stick? I really like how the Shine -> SHDL looks but I can only pull it off half the time. I heard it was easier if you use the control stick but I haven't been able to shorthop with it.

Thanks for the help. We need to keep Melee alive!

1. Yeah. It helps you preserve invincibility and keeps you close to the ledge so you don't get ledgehogged. I'm not sure how many frames you're vulnerable though, so I wouldn't try it against like... Marth.

2. Try starting the uair as you're launching and don't fast fall until you've sent them flying. If you're playing against level nines, they're Smash DI'ing out of it, and you're going to have to predict which way they're DI'ing and DI that way to get the second hit in.

3. You just have to flick it up really fast then let go. Like REALLY fast.

Drop off slowly so that you dont lose much distance backwards or downwards. Its a convenient stall, but nothing better than walljumping>illusion done fast enough IMO

Two things could be happening: 1. Youre missing is, just practice it until you get it, 2. They are using smash DI to escape it. Computers are notorious for f*cking up combo practice.

3. Is there a way to shorthop with the control stick? I really like how the Shine -> SHDL looks but I can only pull it off half the time. I heard it was easier if you use the control stick but I haven't been able to shorthop with it.

There is, bu tI find it easier using x or y. Especially since Y is so close to b.

1. Yes but you need to be fast so fox doesnt fall too far from the stage. Try pressing down, do a shine then up -b, I find it easier doing it this way.

2. Don't dash before the jump, you'll risk flying to far away from your opponent to hit with both hits.

3. Yes. But imo this is stupidly hard and I find it easier to SHDL through sliding my thumb from Y (my preffered jump button) to B. Although this is all personal preference though, and if you want to learn it (its not very useful, since the first laser goes over nearly every characters dashing animation, and your opponent isnt going to be standing still during a real match) just find the way that fits you best

1. There are three ways that I know of to Firestall. On the control stick there's a specific angle that can drop you from the ledge and if you hit that angle again ^B you'll do the simplest firestall possible. The second way is hit away from the stage with the C-Stick then ^B. The way I firestall is to hit away with the control stick and slide it from the side to the top then ^B.

2. All it takes is some practice. Go into melee mode and practice comboing a lvl 1 computer; you know just to get a better feel for characters' weights.

3. There is a way to short hop with the control stick; once again it just takes practice. Lift the control stick ~half a centimeter and let go ASAP.

I hope I helped you.
