So, I kinda find it funny that PPMD's brother Alex (Twitch) didn't get ranked when at a tournament that counted for the rankings (BMR), he took 2 sets off colbol and beat druggedfox. I see a good amount of inconsistencies in the ranking process. Thoughts on the rankings in general?

You'd think Slayer from MN would be ranked given his TBH5, with singles wins on Toph, Alan, and Android, and doubles wins alongside a Kirby main against Toph + G$ and Professor Pro + Chillindude, placing at 33rd and 97th respectively.

The issue is, that outside of being an active MN top player with a few regional appearances, he's mostly absent on the national scale and under-discussed. Same with Twitch and many other players on the "hidden boss" list.

My question is how did $Mike not make the hidden boss list? He's 1st on NC power rankings (PP is 0th; he's always just assumed to be the best.)

$mike is ranked. Hard to say what placing he deserves but the guy's a monster. He could refine his game slightly and be with the top Falcons imho.

Eikelmann 2015
KiT: 2nd
Apex: lost to Bizz, won the runback, didn't place top 64
CEO: 25th
EVO: 65th
Heir II The Throne: 9th
TBH5: 65th

Bizzarro Flame 2015
Apex: 49th
CEO: 33rd
EVO: 97th
Paragon: 49th
HTC: 33rd
TBH5: n/a

Most tournaments that they both attended, Eikelmann placed higher. Tournaments where only another was present, Eikelmann placed higher.

Nice bias MIOM

Not to sound Ganon biased lol, but it's pretty funny also how many people don't know about spider sense, or even linguini for that matter. Definitely hidden bosses. They don't deserve to be ranked, but all they lack is traveling. That should end soon.

It would be cool if they knew about more non-WC hidden bosses in general, but it's not their fault for not knowing. They just need better communion with other regions.

They got Rice from Pensacola. He's ridiculously good.

Yeah there's just not any truly sound way to rank people in a game that has so many hidden bosses. The big problem is many of these players not only don't get ranked, but they also get atrocious seeding, making it extremely difficult for them to prove their worth on a national level the few times they travel. That leads to misleading results, which makes the seeding just as bad, and the cycle continues.

The next big problem with the rankings is that the WCIOM panel is almost entirely WC. Ok, we get it. It started out there, they have the best regions, etc. But there should be an effort made to include at least one person from every region on the panel. Yes, every region. Cutting down bias is the first step to creating a solid rankings.

I'd just like to note that they invited a lot of players from East Coast to do rankings but they just didn't do them

EDIT:
More regions than just East Coat, whoops

Ok I guess my tone was a little too critical. It matters not where the fault lies. They just need more representation from other regions.

I think there's just not enough room for so many talented players in the list. I'm 99.9% sure there will always be a debate on who should've made into list and who deserves to be higher.

Yeah, there's no "not enough room" or "too much talent" on a top 100. Either you make it or you don't. And making it or not making it is decided on a lot of factors- unfortunately one of which seems may be regional bias.
