Minimal to no smash community

I'm a 17 year old smash player who lives in orange county New York and wants to get into competitively playing PM, melee, sm4sh, and 64. My only problem is that there seems to be no form of smash community around me that isnt an hour to two hours of a drive either upstate or out of state. Are their any semi-local tournaments that I just haven't heard of? thanks for the reply

Hiya! It's always a nice surprise to see a smasher in somewhat upstate NY. IDK how deep into Orange you live, but up in Ulster there's a buncha Melee/Sm4sh/PM players and yeah...

Your best bet is to join the Mid-Hudson Smash Group or the New Paltz Smash Group on Facebook. New Paltz seems more active with weekly meetings and stuff (I actually don't know if weeklies still happen since school's pretty much over with now)

We (Mid Hudson smashers) are actually looking for tournament venues. We hosted a monthly for a few months until the venue got taken away from us I know that the scene might be quiet around here but there's a buncha willing players too. Wish you luck d00d

Yup we are out here (Ulster as well) so how deep into Orange County are you?

Oh, that's pretty good! While I haven't been to Middletown myself, I know that there are some pretty frequent smashfests/gatherings over there. Not really any local tournaments (YET), but there's still some opportunity. I'mma stress the Mid-Hudson Smash group on Facebook again because this was just posted lmao. (Also Twebbs good pfft).

That's upstate, you guys are likely closer to the NYC/LI scene. But there is a big upstate tourny coming up
