OK, so around a week ago, I set up a Minecraft server with no mods, plugins, or texture packs. Here's my computer's information: Dell Inspiron 8600, Windows XP, and intel inside centrino, plus regular Minecraft runs, and even Classic multiplayer. We also recently updated video card drivers at www.dell.com.
I even got it to work on our other computer, on the same internet connection, but now, when I start it, it says: [INFO] Starting minecraft server version 1.0.0
[INFO] Loading properties
[INFO] Starting Minecraft server on 192.168.2.5:25565
[WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!
[WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind
[WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?
Or, it occasionally says:[INFO] Starting minecraft server version 1.0.1
[WARNING] **** NOT ENOUGH RAM!
[WARNING] To start the server with more ram, launch it as "java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar"

Can my computer run a server? Or is there another problem?
Question 2:
How do I connect to other computers without downloads for server play?
Thank You
