...is a word that should never be used in competitive gaming forum.

It's a dumbed down way of referring to a character's option select/mixup potential or lack thereof, and the ability of a player to take advantage of this- usually in unique ways. Often times it's just a filler word used when somebody doesn't know how to explain a concept using real fighting game terminology.

Also, continued casual use of this word will only continue to transform the minds of new players into mush. Good job, folks.

I very much agree with this.

Often times, when you say "mindgames" you're referring to stuff like baiting your opponent into a move or something like that.

Anyway, it's better to just explain what you're talking about rather than say "mindgames"

messing with the mind or tricking sounds like mindgames to me. I F*** with people
s heads in real life. But pichu's slow walk is a mind tool. w ,ii,l But yeah it shouldn't be used as much

Are mindgames real? Heck yes.
Should mind games be used for match-up ratios/disscussions? Heck no.
