I always felt that mewtwo was a little way too similar to Samus, correct me if I'm wrong please

The only thing Mewtwo has nearly in common with, in my opinion, is the charge ball shot. I dont see where you got everything else, Samus >>> Mewtwo.

They're also really floaty, but that doesn't have anything to do with a moveset... their forward tilts are kind of similiar... then again so is everyones... umm yeah not really seeing too many similarities. Samus' uptilt looks exactly like C. Falcons though. =/ sorry dudeski.
Too true.
The only other thing is that they are both floaty, but Mewtwo is lighter, and thus easier to kill.

mewtwo plays fully dependent on wavedash and sticking flat to the ground.
samus plays missile cancels (lots of jumping), aerials, bomb tricks.
they both have top tier recovery, but samus' recover is again 2 worlds apart from mewtwo's.
