Methane Bubbles in the Gulf - Doomsday? [Unverified]

Not sure how reliable helium.com is, or how correct their science is, but here's hoping that it's a hoax or just bad science.

Check wikipedia first. It hasn't been confirmed this extinction was caused by sudden methane release.

I seriously doubt that it will be that significant. If a methane bubble that lethal was getting ready to come out it would need the assistance of a fault-sized fissure or a significant crack in the plate. Plus there would have been so much coming from [at least] the US Government evacuating people within 10 miles of the Gulf coast already. There's no way that this one minute drill failure could end mankind. But the 2012 people can hope . . . . (not one of them though)
