Metal Mario Tiering

Yup, it's me, asking another question about tiers.. Just wondering, where does Metal Mario stand? I know it's required to hack him in, but if you did, would he beat Samus and Link in terms of playability? Or is he just way too easy to combo?

Metal Mario is Mario but because it's of metal is more heavy and so it's more difficult to be sent away, but if it falls it does it more fast and so it's more easy to kill simply by do a taking and launch it into the pit!(from The Legend of Zelda CD-i)

Registered a new account, completely ignored TC question, and instead listed off facts even a 4 year old would be able to tell, regardless of whether they played single player or not. Good first post.

im not sure but i think metal mario's heavyness makes him way worse than normal mario, not only when he goes off the edge but also he can be ***** with stuff that normal send a normal opponent too far away (kirby's utilt lol), or by techchasing.

I've never played as metal mario, but I've played against other people using him- generally, the ones who could beat me with others ***** me with him, and the ones who couldn't beat me with others couldn't beat me with him. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he's really easy to chaingrab/combo, but I don't see how that would work if he teched and didn't get techchased... I don't know.

Metal mario would probably be worse than normal mario due to having a much worse short hop. It is possible for many characters to just grab him and then run back and forth and regrab him as metal mario has a bad tech roll. See Pikachu vs Metal Mario or Falcon vs Metal Mario for example. The Metal Mario vs Fox matchup would probably be better than normal as metal mario doesn't flinch vs the lasers and Fox doesn't really have a reasonable quick high knockback move.

Quit trolling guys..llolol

Metal mario would be below mario since he is a hardcore fast faller.
if your playing metal mario and you fall of a ledge your basically done unless you
have incredible reaction time

Metal Mario would be above Master Hand. I think.

Does his added knockback extend to his fireballs?
Metal Mario has 0 additional knockback with his moves compared to normal mario. He just survives much longer, has much more difficulty comboing, and is extremely heavy. The only reason why he looks so tough in 1 player mode is due to the handicap

Ma man A$ has it right. OP FTW. And Ness, the reason people were making fun of you is that in your post, you only said things that people already knew (in convoluted English).

Huh. I guess Metal Mario is a borne loser, then? Thanks for answering my question, folks!

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
I haven't played Metal Mario before, but thinking about it, wouldn't short-hop up-air chains be even better? Short-hop, land quickly, L-cancel, repeat. Depending on how good this chain is, along with him being very difficult to combo for several characters, he could easily make low, mid, maybe high tier (all depending on how good his combos actually are).

Obviously, the other side of the coin, as said by other people, is some characters (Kirby, for example) completely destroy Metal Mario with one move (up-tilt to about 300%, which can be followed by an attack that knocks him far enough away that he can't recover). It is quite easy to see that Metal Mario would have by far the worst recovery in the game compared to the other 12 characters in the case.

it's really hard to time your Z-cancels with Metal Mario especially when trying to pull off complex combos

most characters can just grab him and then read the tech and regrab him.

Lol, Zelda CD-i reference, that was a funny game, I liked the cutscenes.
