Melee on Dolphin Emulator (Help)

So I got my adapter so I could easily play smash on my pc. I start up the game pick my character and push start, but it takes me back to the main menu. I have no idea why. Can anyone help me fix this? Thanks

Try checking your controller configuration. You might have the "Start" button on your controller set to "B" or something similar, so whenever you push your start button the emulator thinks you pushed B. XD

Maybe try pushing your start button elsewhere in the game (like options menu or something) to see if it seems to be registering a "B" button instead.
