Melee Menu Text Storage

I was wondering if anyone knew how the main menu text in melee works. I have found that the there is an address the stores the current menu selection position but how are the letters stored in the menu? Are they just stored as images as one big image or are letters stored individually?

Any information would help.

They're stored as individual textures, and they aren't yellow.

Basically, use Dolphin to dump the textures and reinsert them somehow.
