Main fourm: http://meleehd.boards.net/
As suggestion from the folks over at Melee HD, I have come to advertise what is know as Melee HD, which as of right now is a faithful-as-possible texture upgrade for Super Smash Bros Melee.
To get an idea of the quality of Melee HD, check out the texture discussion and submission subfourm: http://meleehd.boards.net/board/3/texture-discussion-submission
This thread is here for advertisement and promotion of Melee HD, and hopefully, with this fourm, I can gather the attention of artists, modding experts, and the likes.
Melee HD however is part of a bigger, grander project: Melee HD+. What is Melee HD+? A planned overall graphics upgrade for Melee. Ranging from the textures of Melee HD, to better shaders, to considerably higher-poly models, as well as 16:9 Widescreen, 120FPS support, and better special effects.
Course, just how much can Melee be improved in the polycount and special effects department? A lot, probably, Dolphin has an overclock feature going all the way up to 400% clock speed, emulating a 1.9GHz Gamecube. Faster than the Wii and even Wii U, clock speed wise.
Aside from that, who is this advertisement reaching out to?
-People with knowledge on modeling and improving character models and stages in the poly count department
-Artists who can keep as faithful as possible to the textures seen in Melee during the texture upgrade process, and can upgrade the textures to very high resolutions
-Modders, who can create patches to improve the Melee experience, such as 16:9 widescreen patching, as well as functioning 120FPS patches and anything else to enhance Melee
Again, to the people with potential modeling, special effects, or Melee's default built-in shaders knowledge: You have a lot of power to work with. Take advantage of Dolphin's max clock speed of 1.9GHz if possible.
Again, where can you get started with your involvement in Melee HD? Right here: http://meleehd.boards.net/
