When I first found out I was like "holy s*** Batman," McNabb for a 2nd+3rd or 2nd+4th. Philly obviously got ripped the f*** off. I'm not surprised if they end up last in the division.

All I can do is hope that the Redskins don't sign him to a long term deal so that McNabb goes to Minnesota next year >=D

Your reaction?

i see redskins making a quick playoffs exit next year. this was a terrible deal for philly. skins gave away practically nothing. i don't see mcnabb turning the team around but he'll help.

Eagles made a bad deal that'll come back to haunt them. If it wasn't for McNabb and other veterans like Westbrook the Eagles wouldn't have even got to the NFC Championship game 5 times or even a Superbowl appearance at all. Kolb may not be bad and I understand that the Eagles believe it's best for the future to make this move; but who's to say the Eagles don't go totally under as well?

Not only that but breaking up team chemistry is ALWAYS a bad thing. Teams often don't recover from it no matter what sport. Look at the Detroit Pistons in basketball for instance. In 2008 they traded away Billups for Iverson. Now look at the shambles the Pistons are in and they don't even have Iverson anymore.

The Redskins are looking like a contender this upcoming season. I don't believe they're as good as the Vikings, Cowboys or Saints but at least the Redskins have a shot at the playoffs. Washington wasn't a bad team last year for the most part.

I think Philly will be a good 5-11, 6-10 team next year.

I don't think so. I think it was smart on Philadelphia's part to get rid of Mcnabb. Now as for giving him up to the Redskins, a division rival, is yet to be seen. They escaped that bonus for Mcnabb, Kolb isn't a bad Quarterback, better and more aware than Mcnabb anyway in my opinion. They'll bounce back and start fresh with him at the new starting position.

The thing that really has me wow'd is that the Redskins not only got Mcnabb, but they got Coach Mike Shanahan too. As for why the Bronco's let him go is beyond me. He's a brilliant coach.

The Eagles won't lose too much of a step. They'll turn out 8-8 is my prediction. 6-10 is the worst possible record that they'll do. The Cowboys and Giants are both really good teams as it is, and now the Redskins and Eagles are both modding the division as well. This season that division is going to be EPIC.

I'm a Dolphins fan, and I love football, so this season is going to be exciting.

You don't seriously believe that Dan Marino sucks simply because he never won a ring, do you?

I'm not really understanding where this faith in Kyle Kolb is coming from. You know who else had a few good starts when McNabb went down? AJ Feeley.

For whatever reason, McNabb is the quarterback that everyone loves to hate. He's the third best quarterback in the league statistically behind Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, the Eagles have the best record since 2000, he led his team to four NFC championships and a Super Bowl. True, he never got the ring, but there are dozens of amazing players in every league that never won a championship.

I understand the money aspect of the trade, but my brother (who's the biggest Eagles fan I know) has done alot of reading about this trade, and part of the reasoning for it is that Kolb told the Eagles that he wouldn't sign a long term contract with the team if McNabb was also offered a long term deal (both of their contracts expire in the same year). It just seems foolish to me to get rid of a proven winner for an unknown quantity.

You do realize I'm a Dolphins fan, right? Dan Marino didn't suck at all in my defense to that statement lol.

But AJ Feeley, Jeff Garcia, and Kyle Kolb all had good starts. I think that the Eagles have a great Offensive Coordinator, and I have faith in Kyle Kolb. He did excellent in his first two games (for being a young NFL QB and losing a game). He did about as good as Chad Henne personally. Which I have a lot of faith in as well, so that's saying something for me. haha. But I honestly, personally think that whole division will be the most brutal division.

Like I said, he looked great in his first two starts (which is why I'm only predicting a 6-10 worst possible record) but I'm predicting 10-6 as a max record. Overall, I'm predicting a 7-9 record for the season for the Eagles. Which really isn't bad for there division and schedule with the new player swaps that went during the offseason.

this is stupid. i hope you don't judge talent based off how many rings someone has.
That's almost like ranking players skill on Smashboards based on their amount of posts when you think about it...

Chad Henne looks really great. Really great. I think he's finally the guy for Miami. My brother and father are Dolphins fans, so I have an interest in their success! ;) And my other brother is an Eagles fan, so you can see where my loyalties lie in this thread, lol.

I'm not prepared to compare Kolb to Henne yet. Maybe he'll get there, but I don't think two starts is enough to really determine that.

We know his name, so what's with that post? lol. But anyway, back on track...

From what I've seen, any QB the Eagles actually had started looked good. Whether it was Mcnabb OR a backup to a third string, even. I see Kolb being the worthwhile starter for the Eagles. I personally think it was a smart decision on their part. As for giving Mcnabb to a DIVISION rival. That has yet to be determined for my opinion to be made. It could go either way, but I think they're really underestimating Mike Shanahan.

The Redskins have been underestimated period. And i know I'm going to sound like every other Redskins fan, but this year marks a really big change. Albert Haynesworth's constantly-injured *** just isn't reliable anymore, but i think the rest of our defense is very reliable. The only concern i have is that if Mike doesn't consider the O-line a serious issue with the upcoming draft and the rest of the free agency, then the Redskins will (once again) suffer a not-so-cute season.

Y'all were calling him Kyle <_<

And trading a HoF QB like McNabb to the Redskins is just stupid. They have all the necessary offensive weapons short of a quarterback....And now the Eagles just gave them a quarterback. Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, Malcolm Kelly, and Clinton Portis. Not to mention they also picked up whats left of the careers of Willie Parker and Larry Johnson so they are set at running back.

Mike isn't a stupid coach. He'll find, cover, and take care of all the problems the Redskins have. I personally think getting rid of Mcnabb was a great move for the Eagles, but what gets me is... To the Redskins? That's just dangerous.

And the Redskins get the 4th overall pick in the NFL draft this year. I'm not sure who they would draft with that pick perhaps they might pick up a talented lineman or defensive back. If that team winds up getting some good chemistry together they will be a force. Not to the likes of the Saints, Cowboys and Vikings, but a tier level down from that is possible.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Mike Shanahan is going to turn that team around. He's not a stupid coach. He knows what he's doing and he'll take advantage of that pick, no doubt.
