Mayflash adapter; Half the price, half the quality?

Hiya!

I am looking into purchasing a GameCube controller adapter, for the purpose of Netplay, and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with the third party adapters shipped from Malaysia/Hong Kong, and could give me a brief testimony regarding their quality (input lag, longevity).

They are going for half the price of the official Nintendo adapters, and although the latter is not egregiously expensive, the Canadian dollar is in a pretty awful spot and suffice it to say I don't have a lot of disposable income.

Of course, it would make sense to assume the goods are of lesser quality, but providing that doesn't mean extra input lag, I think I could cope and save a save a little money.

Also, I apologize for the clutter. I did use the search function before posting, albeit somewhat haphazardly, and thought it not totally inappropriate!

Thanks in advance.

After their release and initial scarcity, I recall there being some threads about if you really need the original nintendo adapter but I can't find them. But if I remember correctly, there should be little difference between the two and mayflash adapters are rather common amongst netplay players.

Here are the best comments I found on it:

I haven't tried an official Nintendo adapter but I have a four port Mayflash one and I don't really have complaints. From what I understand earlier versions were worse though
