Smash Apprentice
UTSmash proudly presents EZ$$$, its last big tournament of the spring. This tournament will feature both singles and doubles for Project M as well as Sm4sh. There will be a $50 pot bonus applied to singles for both games ($100 total). The venue is James Harvey Shell Auditorium, a large room that has been the location of past tournaments such as MVP and Forte 2. We are planning to go all out to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone involved! We've applied to have this tournament hosted by PMC. We've also got TLOC| Nebtune and JV confirmed for commentary! We hope to see representation from players of many different Texas scenes at this tournament. Come out and claim your EZ$ 
BRING SETUPS. We need everything, and a lot of it. If you can bring a setup, or even just a copy of the game, an extra Wii, or CRT, PLEASE do. We also need power strips and extension cords. The more of these things we have, the more people we can have playing at once, and transitively the more awesome of an experience it is for all involved parties.
Pricing:
Venue fee: $5 (waived for FULL setup)
Sm4sh/PM singles: $5
Sm4sh/PM doubles: $5 ($10 per team)
Payouts:
Doubles- 70/30 (if less than 12 teams); 60/30/10 (if 12 or more)
Singles- 60/30/10 (less than 30 players); 50/25/15/10 (more than 30)
Tournament Format:
PM and Sm4sh doubles will be double elimination. All finals will be best of 5, with all other sets being best of 3.
PM and Sm4sh singles will both be run through round robin pools into a bracket. Losers, Winners, and Grand Finals are Bo5; all other sets will be Bo3.
PM Ruleset:
-4 Stocks
-8 Minutes
-Winner may not choose a stage they have won on, unless agreed on by other player
-Pausing, unless dismissed by other player, results in current stock suicide
-If time runs out, person with the highest amount of stocks wins, if both players have same amount of stocks, person with lower percent wins. If both players have same stock-count and same percentage, replay a 1-stock, 3 minute match on same stage.
-No coaching during a match
-No Giga Bowser, lol
Stage Strike from Starters for the first match of the set in “1-2-1″ fashion:
1. First player strikes one stage.
2. Second player strikes two stages.
3. First player strikes one stages.
After each match:
1. Winner announces three (3) stage bans
2. Loser chooses counterpick stage
3. Winner chooses their character
4. Loser chooses their character
Starter stages:
-Green Hill Zone
-Pokemon Stadium 2
-Smashville
-Dreamland
-Battlefield
Counterpick stages:
-Distant Planet
-Yoshi's Story (singles only)
-Yoshi's Island
-Fountain of Dreams
-Final Destination
-WarioWare
Sm4sh Custom Ruleset:

Bring or have access to a 3DS that can easily port the custom moveset to the WiiU.
First match will be played on one of the following Starter stages:
Battlefield
Final Destination/Omega if agreed upon between players
Smashville
Town and City
Lylat Cruise
Strike order is 1-2-1. Remaining stage gets played.
Winner of the last match strikes 2 stages from Starters and Counterpick stages, then loser can pick one from the remaining. You cannot pick a stage that you have won on in the set unless agreed upon.

Castle Siege
Pokemon Stadium 2 (added because it's becoming popular at other Texas events)
After a stage is picked, the Winner of the last match picks a character and custom set. The loser then picks their character and custom set, then the match starts.
