Hello Smashers! The Dojo Crew presents a Melee/PM monthly series to you.

NOTICE: You must bring your own controller to play in any event. Extra controllers might be lying around but there is no guarantee for that. No modded controllers don't be that guy we have to kick out.

Venue fee - $5
Project M Fee - $5
PM doubles: $5 per teammate
Venue fee must be payed no matter which tournament you enter

ARCADIAN RULES:
If you are ranked in the PM top 10 in Houston you are BANNED from entering this singles bracket. Rankings can be found on http://www.dawnmediassb.com/#!project-m/cyv0

anyone not in the Top 10 can enter and play!

NOTICE 2: If you bring a full set up you will have your venue fee refunded to you in full. A full set up includes a CRT TV (must be a CRT don't be a scrub and bring an LCD), a Wii or Gamecube with all the needed cords (modded Wii's are acceptable as long as they have at least Melee or PM on it), a Melee disk with a memory card that has all the characters and stages unlocked or a brawl disc and a SD card with PM on it.
Times:
Venue opens at 10
Sign ups for all events begin at 10 30
Cypress vs Katy starts at 11 am
PM doubles begin at 11 45
PM Arcadian bracket begins when doubles enter losers finals

Project M 3.5Ruleset
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* 4 stock, 8 minutes.

* Sets are best of 3. Finals are best of 5.

* Items set to “off” and “none.”

* Either player may call for a Double Blind character selection for the first match.

* Dave’s Stupid Rule: A player may not counterpick any stage he won on in a set.

* Controller port is determined by Rock Paper Scissors if it can’t be agreed upon.

* Pausing during a match will result in the loss of one stock for the pauser.

* Quitting out of a match before it is over will result in a loss for the quitter.

* If time runs out, the person with the most stock left (or least % if they are equal) wins. If the % is equal as well, play a 1 stock 3 minute match, same characters and stage.

* If the match goes to sudden death due to a suicide move (Ganon’s side-B, Kirby/DDD’s swallow, holding someone in a grab on a platform as it moves out of the boundaries, etc.), the one who initiated the move wins.

* Buffer set to off.

* Custom controls are allowed, but controllers modified to enhance performance are not. No turbo buttons, etc. However, removing the springs from shoulder buttons or replacing a thumbstick with a different thumbstick are ok.

* In the event that the game crashes or the TV/Wii loses power in the middle of a match, that match will be restarted from the beginning with the same characters and stage. If a player uses a known glitch to intentionally crash the game or otherwise make it unfinishable, that player may be forced to forfeit the match or be DQed at the TO’s discretion.

* No excessive stalling (this includes abusing Jiggs’ Rising Pound and Mario’s Up-B Walljump)

* No coaching during a match. Consulting someone between matches is allowed as long as it doesn’t hold up the next match.

* Both players may agree to any rule or stage outside the tournament ruleset.

* Giga Bowser is banned.

Stagelist:
Stage Strike from Starters for the first match of the set in "1-2-1" fashion:
  1. First player strikes one stage.
  2. Second player strikes the next two stages.
  3. First player strikes the next two stages.
  4. Second player strikes one stage.
  5. Players play on remaining stage
Starters (Bottom Middle 5) 3 bans
  • Battlefield
  • Smashville
  • Dreamland
  • Green Hill Zone
  • Pokemon Stadium 2
Counterpicks (Middle 5 stages)
  • Yoshi's Story Brawl
  • Wario Ware
  • Final Destination
  • Lylat Cruise
  • Fountain of Dreams

Payout
1st - 60%
2nd - 30%
3rd - 10%

How late does the doubles tournament run? I'm thinking about only entering doubles if I can make it.

Very last minute, but registration opens at 12:00 and ends at 12:30?

Edit: Also I'm from dfw, but in houston over the summer. I'm nowhere near being on the PR, I hope you don't mind me coming to your Arcadian event.

Oh, I'll do my best to get there on time.
I don't intend to enter doubles, will registration for singles be open while doubles is happening?
