Saturday May 16th at Anime-zing Escape, GamerMingle is hosting a Smash 4 Singles and Halo 3 Doubles tournament with a possible Smash 4 Doubles tourney depending on timeframe and player interest. The Smash 4 singles tourney will start at 3PM, and Halo 3 will start at 5 or 530PM depending on the length of the Smash 4 tournament. Both Smash tourneys are double elimination.
The tournament entry fees will be $10 ($5 venue, $5 pot) for your first tourney entry, and $5 per tourney you compete in after that. Payouts for each tourney are as follows:
1st - 60%
2nd- 30%
3rd - 10%
Depending on the turnout for each tourney, we will also have prizes for 4th place and possibly for the two players tied for 5th. We strongly advise you to bring your own controller, and any spare setups are greatly appreciated. If you bring a spare setup, and we use it for tourney play, we will waive your venue fee for the day.
A spare setup for Smash should include: Monitor, system, game, & GameCube adapter. A spare setup for Halo 3 should include System, monitor, Halo 3, and at least one controller (more preferred incase players do not have their own.) Also for Halo, we strongly advise you to use FileShare to download the MLG preferred maps and gametypes. This player currently has both MLG setups, if you need to use Fileshare to obtain the correct map, find them on Xbox Live and download the MLG maps for The Pit, Construct, and Guardian, also grab the gametype – MLG TS 8.
GamerTag – MLG gametypes . Instructions: Insert Halo 3 into your console, send private chat invite to the above player, click their name in the chat and view profile, then click FileShare. You should see MLG The Pit, MLG Construct TS, and MLG Guardian gametypes. Download them all, and the MLG TS 8 Gametype, and you’re done! If you are already connected to Xbox Live, you should have all other updates for Halo 3 download automatically.

We would also enjoy hosting a Smash 4 Doubles tourney if Time and Player interest allows. We will start this tourney after Halo 3 is underway if we have at least 8 interested teams (16 players)
Smash specific rules-
2 Stock, 6 Minute, best of 3 matches.
Winner finals, Loser finals, Grandfinals all best of 5.
We will have the standard EVO custom move sets for each character, these will take up all 10 slots on the custom move board, so we will not allow anyone to copy over their own specific custom setups.

All matches 2V2, first to 25, 15 Minute time-limit, MLG Maps and Gametypes only
Those maps include – The Pit, Construct and Guardian.
Each team will share a monitor as their teammate, and be placed at opposite ends of the same table.
Please plan to be at the venue a half hour or so before your game begins to get signed up, especially if you are bringing a spare setup, to keep things moving smoothly.
