Have been on a personal grind to beat 9.9 with everyone. Currently have 6 left (
).
If anyone has any tips, let me know.
I guess on the topic of scoring,
is my highest with 2.094 million. And that required me to beat Rathalos while already at 9.9, which is no easy task.
Your intensity seems to go up more the faster you clear a round and the less damage you take. I've gotten +0.9 on the first round before. The easiest way to see this is to go into Wii Fit Trainer's classic, and when the round starts, do a down b. Wario will use Side-B. Shield it, Wario will drive past it and kill himself. Get +0.9 every time as long as I don't take damage there.
I'm the one that wants tips! I haven't done nearly as well as you have.
My highest score is 2.022 million with Young Link. and if you notice from my giant post in the last page, he's one of the characters I
don't have 9.9 with yet. Don't know how he's my high score. Go figure.
Just got Palutena 9.9 today. For her:
and
and
: try to keep your distance and Explosive Flame and Auto-Reticule them for damage. The Belmonts' whips can be pretty savage.
: Shark under the platforms with Nair.
: Camp one of the blast zones at the top and shield grab -> back throw to victory.
Do not chase him down, that just wastes way too much time. He'll come to you.
: Do not chase them down, stay at one of the sides and just try as best as you can to blast them all off.
Bayo: Bullet Climax is great for racking up damage, and Heel Slide is a good mid-range lunge attack. For the Pits of Skyworld, camp on the top platform and punch them in the face (f smash) when the come up to attack you.
Simon; It's the same tactics as Richter, just a bit harder. Give them a bullet hell with all your projectiles, than Holy Water -> F smash for victory.
Finally got Jigglypuff!! ****ing had 9.8 going into the last fight, hate it when the game's like "you didn't quite do
THAT good". Fortunately DK's a chump. You need your Rests on point for this fight.
and
: Escort them to the blast zone with Fairs, they suck. Mario can be killed with Sing -> Rest, but Hyrule Castle is too tall to be worth doing against Link.
: You can
try to cheese it be leading all the way to the left cloud and hoping the SD after it disappears, but this can be quite difficult. I KOed Samus with a Drill and threw the base at Yoshi.
: Rest aggressively. Fox is way too fast to try to fight normally, and Kirby is hard to gimp. They each die to one rest anyway.
: Reprising his role in SSB64 as
The Rat, he's small, fast, with disjointed attacks that out-prioritize everything you've got. In other words, Jigglypuff's worst nightmare. You've basically got no choice but to try to whiff punish with Rest. Unfortunately it takes two to kill him.
: You cannot win this fight the standard way, you will be bounced around like a pinball. Aggressive Resting is the only hope you have.
Giant
: And at the end of it all...a total pushover. Just don't get smashed. It's up to you if you want to escort him to the blastzone with a fair chain or send him to the sky with Rest.
Then I tried again and got 9.9 after the secret character fight. Got a great Pikachu fight hitting him with 2 Rests after he whiffed an up smash and side B. Seriously, your accuracy with Rest is everything. That "9.9 with just Rest" video on Youtube isn't a meme, it's basically the strat.
