At the tip, anywhere along the arc.

Go to Training and set a CPU to "jump". Simply short hop a footstool and immediately Dair. That's the spacing.

When you are not footstooling people, face away from them to hit with the back of the attack - the hitbox extends further there in the back.

EDIT: video with the footstool thing for visual aid:

When he Dairs, anywhere during his swing at the tip of your sword has to connect with the opponent for a spike. The swing starts off a little bit infront of and below Marth and goes all the way back to behind him. Just tipper this hit at any part during your swing and down they go.

If this isn't what you're asking for, you'll need to clarify.

That is pretty much it, I guess Ill figure the timing out. Thank you
Unless you know the exact time it takes for it to connect?
Or is that information in the frame data thread?

Copy/pasted from the Frame Data thread:

Dair
Hit: 6-10
End: 60
Lag: 32
Shield Stun: 12
~Shield Hit Lag: 5
ADVANTAGE (SHFF): -26
Tipper Shield Stun: 13
~Shield Hit Lag: 11
ADVANTAGE (SHFF): -31
SHFF Dair Lag: 32
SH Dair Fast Falled Lag: 32

It comes out on the 6th frame and lasts until the 10th, the lag wears off and Marth will be able to do his next move by frame 60.

Good luck practicing with it. My recommendation is to try Dairing out of a Fair, it's what I usually do.

here's what i did:
I went to group brawl against a computer, junped, daired, and paused. The white of the slash seems to be the spike range. I usually spike in one of the ways.
1) DIRECTLY in front and close up dair
2) Hanging on edge, drop, jump, dair (footstool optional)
3) fsmash away from edge hitting them off the edge (happens at very close range) then two full jumps into a dair facing backwards.

To get it right it feels like you're spiking kinda early... that's the advice I was given. Either that or RAR it.
