These two are very different. Marths charge b, arguablly the cheapest move in Melee is now a forward strike. It does not any arc whatsoever. Thus its not nearlly as useful. His forward b also comes out a little different too. But other than that he seems pretty much the same. Ike moveset is nothing like his though. Just really different feel. Ikes Smashes come out really slow, but his normal A attacks are quick and have good range and knockback. His charge be is actually a down strike that again has limited range. Marth of course id much quicker than Ike. But he has a little less range Id say.

some may say that it is because it is a very good edge guarding attack.

anyway it was obvious to me right away after watching ike and marth vids that they both are quite different.

Says the guy who goes around telling everyone that Wolf is a 100% unique character... Mechanically (before rebutting, tell me what your definition of mechanics is because you clearly don't know), Ike does have a decent number of similarities between Marth/Roy.

The difference in character is always good for smash, the game is all about variety. Marth might not be top tier with some nerfing to his moveset, but still will be good to main. (Interesting to point out, Brawl's tier list will be harder than ever, seing that there is a lot of balance in the game, but that's another story)

Marth's range seems a tad shorter but It's hard to tell. Marth plays a bit different than in melee - he's not as much of a light weight anymore either - it seems he can take more damage than he could in melee.

I can confirm that his B attack doesn't arc anymore - he thrusts it forward like he's poking you (kind of like his down-a in melee).

Maybe tomorrow I'll take some videos and upload them on the net.
