---

Plot : The game begins with a peaceful evening in the Mushroom Kingdom where Mario sees flying crystals in the sky. The next day, he receives a note from Bowser that contains both an apology for doing bad deeds and an invitation to his castle for a feast. Mario gathers up Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, Peach, Daisy, Wario and Waluigi to go Bowser's castle. Once they get there, Bowser uses his powers to capture and shrink all eight! The miniature eight wake up outside and go on a quest to find the star crystals to restore themselves to normal

Reception : The game had strong sales the first week of its release. Most people were disappointed to discover that there was no Wi-Fi for the game, but were very pleased that the game had DS Download Play. The minigames were well received as being fun, creative, and stunning. Among major gaming websites, Mario Party DS has had positive reviews.

* Nintendo Power- 8/10
* Game Spot- 8/10
* IGN- 7/10

My thoughts : To be honest...I was actually quite disappointed in this game. It doesn't have wi-fi and the mini games arn't even challenging. I recommend renting it but seriously not buying it!

What are your opinions on it?

I haven't played it at all, but I'm glad you posted this, so I know it doesn't have wifi. I doubt I would have purchased it anyway, I don't have much spending money and there are other games I'd rather buy.

I thought Mario Party for the Wii (I can't remember, is it 8?) was pretty fun. Mario Party 1-3 were the best IMHO, especially 2 (for the boards).

I hardly ever play Mario Party anymore though, there's almost always something better that we can agree on...

I have it. It's alright, some of the mini-games are cute, quirky, and fun to play. I find the production value to be quite low, like they rushed it. Graphics are alright, sound is on par...

I guess just your average party. BTW, the BOARDS ARE WAAAAYYY TOOOO SMALLL!

My brother just got it for his B day. I've played and graphically it looks like the n64 but a lil smoother which is good. The boards you play on are too d@mn small. It's so easy to get stars on this game. The mini games do have a few unique ways of using the stylus and the DS mic. For example theres a 1v3 mini game were the 1 hasta blow into the mic to freeze the other 3 players, while the other 3 players are using the stylus to rub themselves to stay warm. But some the mini games can be confusing at first(In my opinion.) But for the most part there easy. Not too challenging at all. I haven't played the story mode yet though. So I can't give it a full review ratingg or anything like that. But I'm giving you a very deep first impression so far of this game. By playing as much as I played I too would recommend it as a renter or atleast a game you should get later on.

I'm not too upset by the lack of wifi. I mean seriously, think about what a wifi match would be like anyway.

1. You spend 20-30 minutes searching for four people.

2. You roll a ten. One person disconnects.

3. Everyone goes and a minigame starts. You win, another person drops.

4. You get a star.

5. You're now playing by yourself.

I guess minigames + wifi would have been nice but it's not really a big deal. Download play is enough for me.

You got a good point Alex, I couldn't agree wit you more. This just isn't the kind of game for Wi-Fi.
