Mario, Meta Knight, and Marth won't load

I'm not completely sure if this is the right place to post this. Mods, feel free to move this thread.

My Brawl game (US import, my Wii is PAL) has a really **** strange glitch. It's been fine until recently, when this started happening.

Mario, Meta Knight, and Marth won't load at all. Whenever I choose them on the character select screen, with or without SD codes on, the game simply just stops loading, and gives me the 'The game disc could not be read' error. In SSE, it also stops the game from loading when it tries to load one of those characters (for example, I choose Kirby first, then Mario second. Kirby dies, and then Mario should come into play, but the game stops loading).

I've really tried everything to get this to go away, but now I'm out of ideas. Is there any code that can solve my problem? A alternative character loader or something like that?

Try this for me.

Get the File Patch code and place ALL OF MARIO, META KNIGHT, and MARTH's files on your SD card.
This includes the rel, effect files, and everything related to them in the fighter folder.

Also, clean your disc.

I'll try that.

I have. I even used a disc cleaning machine that my local GameStop has, and it's almost free of scratches now.

If this doesn't work, I guess I'll have to get a new disc, since the PAL copy of Brawl that I borrowed from my friend seems to work fine.
