In order for this to work, we must rely on an "honesty system," which doesn't require proof for the records being given. However, if things get out of hand, the Light House moderators may request picture proof of the "attained" record.

ONLY POST IF YOUR TIME IS BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUSLY LISTED ONE.

We don't care to see how long it took you to finish in Baby Park. If you would like to try to beat a previous record, please post in the following manner.

the one i've been focusing on:

started using bullet bill but got a better time a couple days later using parade kart that i had just unlocked.

the way i've been doing it so far is by using a shroom to get me over the grassy parts to the shortcut for the first two laps and then powersliding into the shortcut the third time. in the turns i hug the left side religiously while charging up powerslides. i also do a powerslide right before the accelerator at the beginning of the track. i've gotten the staff ghost but am yet to beat him...

staff ghost baybe!

hey after a long night's work at the beach, i unlocked the staff ghost and came within a second of beating him ;p ...


Peach Beach: 1:20:853 (c) 26:062 (l) (only one shroom used on that lap)

ok, so here's to lowdown on the staff ghost strat:

he does two mts in the first turn, hugging the inner side of the turn. he then does one mt on the larger beach, and one mt at each of the two proceeding turns. rinse and repeat. he uses the shroom up the hill in the second and third laps.

this guy is totally beatable... his kart doesn't have the same top speed as bullet bill or the parade kart, and i was leading once for the whole race until i hit the grass in the last stretch. i'm working on baby park now, but i'm not totally satisfied with my run just yet.

EDIT: forgot to mention - seems like the staff ghost is coming in at about 1:20 even...

EDIT: i did a typo in my lap time... it was 26:062 and not 20:062

Is there only one staff ghost on each track??
Because i beat the one on Bowsers Castle by a few secconds, and that wasnt even a flawless run... And i just figured out a way to add in another mini turbo, but i havent done it sucesfully on a lap that i have completed properly.

No, there's only one staff ghost per course. And no, I don't think there's any differences in the PAL version that would affect time trial.

How in the world did you get that fast on Bowser's Castle!? I thought I rocked on that stage, but you beat me by like 10 seconds!

I was totally rocking Baby Park today... I came within a half second of beating the staff ghost. I think with just a little more practice, I should be able to pull it off. I practiced a lot more on Bowser's Castle as well, and managed to get down to 2'47"940... still nowhere near Duck's time though. But I'm determined to get that back! Bowser's Castle is my second favorite stage

Bowsers Castle is my seccond favorite aswell, with DK mountain being first. For that time i was just carefull when it used my mushrooms (ie not just on a big straight but when coming out of a slow corner) And played around to find out the corners that could be boosted out of and made sure I did out of every corner possible, although i think i did miss a couple on that time.
I can give a more detailed explination if anyone wants it.

The Yoshi Circuit time was off one attempt so should be easy to beat.
Oh and i beat the Staff Ghost on Waluigi Stadium.

I tried to beat Arrow's Baby Park time but best i could do was 01'13"249 and 00'09"836 for the lap (which i was really happy with...) But 2 secconds is a lot in such a short race.

I wouldnt try and do a MT on the beach straight like the SG does unless you have a Kart with low top speed. That made it kinda easy to beat their time. (I might work on that time some more, as i fell it could be much better.)

Waluigi Stadium: 01'57"236 (C) 00'37"946 (L) - both Toad Racer.

I spent about an hour and a half trying to beat that while i was babysitting. I dont think i would have had the motivation to do that for just a staff ghost, but because it was a person on the forums who had already beaten it made it so much more motivating and satisfying.

Do you guys go up the bridge for your times on Mushroom Bridge? 'Cause I got like, 1:35, and didn't use the bridge boost once, so i'm thinking this may shave a good couple of seconds if i manage to get up there for all 3 laps, it's just I fall off after the second or third one, and that just really ticks me off. So is it any useful? Or is it just better to do mini boosts going across the bridge?

I dont bother going over the boosts on the bridge, because i did it once just for the first lap, then i tried racing the ghost but instead doing a few mini boosts over the bridge, and by the end of it i ended up about the same as the ghost that had been over all those turbo pad things. The SG doesnt go up over them either.
But i think it would be useful if you had a kart with a low top speed.

I hope you can understand what i just said, i know i didnt word it very well.

I gotcha, what you're saying is that you did the first lap over the bridge, then raced the rest of the way until you finished. Then you raced your ghost that went over the bridge but instead you did mini-boosts across the bridge and in the end there was little to no difference.

heh, that was pretty confusing too.

Thanks though, i'll stop wasting my time on the bridge if it doesn't help at all.

Ok, been playing a lot of games lately (hence why I wasn't on the past couple weeks) and I've managed to beat only one staff ghost! And... I've unlocked a couple others whom are pretty tough, anywho here they are...

Luigi Circut's ghost is a toughty, but I managed to nail the Rainbow Road ghost by only a secound! (Luigi Circut clocks in at about 1:26, and I suck at the power slide!). I'll try to nail the other times that everybody else has posted later.

I just checked my times from my game records and those are correct, DK Mountain in 29 seconds and I'd love to tell you how but I don't want to because then you may be able to beat it and I don't remember because I set that like a week ago.

Seeing all those times seriously makes me kinda angry because so much for having the records be kinda even between 5 members, now its just Bahamut, Bahamut, Bahamut, Bahamut, Arrow, Bahamut, Bahamut, Bahamut, Me, Bahamut, Bahamut, Bahamut, Phil, etc. :|

I'm still trying to improve that time I made but I can't seem to get close to it... Well, I seem to keep getting 1'57"(pretty high right here) so meh. I'm just glad to have atleast one course as mine. Come on, I rule at Waluigi Stadium, just go for the others

Oh yeah and I noticed your time was quicker than his when I was editing the times last night but when I right clicked the page wouldn't let me "Undo" my paste so I just let it slide, I was gonna fix it today anyways... I swear

You doubting Thomas, you. I have every single one of my ghosts saved on a memory card (formerly occupied by Animal Crossing, I never played that game anyway). If anybody doubts any of my times, the only way I could prove their existence is if somebody came to MOAST and saw the times for themselves. I don't have a digital camera or a scanner to email any record photos.

Plus, some of my times don't even beat the staff ghosts, so they HAVE to be beatable. All I really did was try to unlock all of the staff ghosts, and many of the times I had were better than the ones that were there before.

My guess is, in the near future, I'll be left without a single record. Give it a week or two.

Cashed, are you positive about that lap time on DK Mountain? How could you possibly have managed under 30 seconds one lap, and then somehow have the other two laps take something like almost 1 minute each?

Well, Bahamut, you have royally pwned us all. As soon as I'm feeling better (I have the flu right now ) I'm going to get my Baby Park time back... as well as Dino Dino Jungle (even though I hate it, I'm really good at it). I'm also determined to take back Bowser's Castle.

Getting hit by rocks, maybe falling off, etc. Using both mushrooms on one lap, power sliding everywhere (I powerslide in mid air now ), and all that other good stuff.

Duck sent me a new Waluigi Stadium time via PM last night and I ended up beating it, I don't remember the exact hundredths of seconds but I know my time was 1'53"XXX while Duck's in the PM was 1'54"XXX

I'm at school right now though so I can't be sure of my time

Ok, been playing Rainbow road like a madman, and I managed to shave off 1"899 seconds off of my previous time... so here it is!
