MARIO KART 7 - ULTIMATE GRAND PRIX

Hello everyone and welcome to the 'Mario Kart 7 - Ultimate Grand Prix' Forum Game. As the title implies, it is a forum game with a Mario Kart 7 theme. While the rules, data, scoring, etc. may all look confusing at first, you'll find that this is a VERY simple game to play and involves little to no need to donate time to. I hope this game can end up being a fun experience for everyone who participates. I put a lot of time into preparing it and will no doubt spend a good amount of time keeping up with it, so I really do hope it work out! ^_^

Intro: Basically, how the game works, is there are 8 racers, all characters from the game Mario Kart 7, who have their own custom vehicle with parts from Mario Kart 7. You must evaluate the stat bonuses each Character/Combo set has to offer, and use that to predict how the 8 characters will place in the end of the 16 race Grand Prix. Once a day (unless there is a delay, which will most likely not happen), the results for one of these races will be posted, and the characters score points for how well they place. But there's a twist, every character and their vehicle have their own personal stat boosts between 8 different stats; Land, Sea, Air, Accel, Weight, Off-Road, Mini-Turbo, and Drift. To top it off, there are also 32 courses, with each one favoring their own different set of dominant stats, and there is a completely random chance as to which are chosen. You'll have to make the right descisions and have luck on your side in order to take the gold in this game!

How to play: The rules are very simple, before the races have begun, just vote who you think will place where in the end of the Grand Prix, then wait out the races and see how your predictions turned out. For example, say the 8 characters chosen to enter the Grand Prix where Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, DK, Toad, and Koopa. Lets say you think the result will be that Mario will win, Peach will come second, DK third, Yoshi fourth, Bowser fifth, Toad sixth, Luigi seventh, and Koopa last. If that is the case, then all you do is vote like this:
1. Mario
2. Peach
3. DK
4. Yoshi
5. Bowser
6. Toad
7. Luigi
8. Koopa
Once you've done that, there is a Tie Break Number that you must include in case the is a tie. After your prediction list, include a number of points in which you believe the player in First and the player in Last will be separated by. As the most amount of points one character can earn is 160, and the least is 16, you have to put a number between 0 and 144 as well. Also, make sure that no one else has voted the same order or Tie Break Number as there cannot be any two votes the same in either category. Once you're done with all that, voila! You're done! Now just sit back, and watch how your predictions pan out.

Scoring: Every race, every character in the races is rewarded points dependant on how they place in the race. The points given to each of the respective characters is this:
First Place: 10 points
Second Place: 8 points
Third Place: 6 points
Fourth Place: 5 points
Fifth Place: 4 points
Sixth Place: 3 Points
Seventh Place: 2 points
Eighth Place: 1 point
All the races are broken into 4 cups of 4 races each, resulting in 4 separate scores with a maximum of 40 points available in each cup. After all 4 cups are finished, the points are all tallied up to give the final score and rankings. Once the final rankings are up, you recieve points on how well you predicted. You recieve points dependant on who you voted correctly, and recieve this many points:
Vote 1st Correct: 10 points
Vote 2nd Correct: 8 points
Vote 3rd Correct: 6 points
Vote 4th Correct: 5 points
Vote 5th Correct: 4 points
Vote 6th Correct: 3 points
Vote 7th Correct: 2 points
Vote 8th Correct: 1 point
As you can see, predicting the top spots is crucial, and more important than getting the lower spots, as predicting just the first place character correct is equal to predicting all 4 of the bottom placing characters correct. Don't count the lower spots out however, as the can easily decide close results. IF two people end up getting the same overall score from their predictions, the Tie Break Number comes into play. Whoever guessed the closest number of points that separate First place from Last place wins. If the distance is the same for both people, the person with the lower number wins.

How the races work: For each race, a random course is selected from the 32 available, however, if a course has been chosen just once during the whole Ultimate Grand Prix, it cannot be selected again. Once the course has been selected, a 6 sided dice is rolled for every character in the race. Once the dice has given each character in the race a number, the stats that are affected by the chosen stage are added/subtracted from the number on the dice, and that is the character's Race Score. After every racer has a Race Score, the characters are all order from greatest to smallest in order of Race Score, and that is how each character places in that race. If there are any ties in Race Scores, the character who placed higher in the previous round is ahead. If there is a tie on the first race, it is decided by Alphabetical order of the characters' names. All race scores have a minimum of -4 and a maximum of 11 after adding in stats.

Rewards: With all that said, some of you may be thinking, 'well, what do I get if I win?' The winner of the Ultimate Grand Prix will get to create their very own Character/Vehicle combo for the next Ultimate Grand Prix and will have first dibs on whatever voting order and Tie Break Number they please. You will also be honored in the OP of this thread. There may be added prizes in the future, however, so watch out for any info on that.

Stats: It's pretty obvious that you are all curious about how the stat system works, so let me explain. Every Character and vehicle part has his/her/its own advantages and disadvantages. There are 8 stats, which are: Land, Sea, Air, Accel, Weight, Off-Road, Mini-Turbo, and Drift. In the following charts, every selection has a few stats listed next to them with either a '+' or a '-', which either add 1 point to the mentioned stat, or minus 1 point. While the stats may look ridiculously complicated and in depth, you'll come to find once you play that they work very simply and really arent overly drastic. Here are the stat charts:

If need be, I will add a FAQ here if any questions start to commonly arise. Aside from that, that's it for all the rule, regulations, etc. All info relating to the Grand Prix currently in progress will be done so in the 2nd post (the one directly after this one) so be sure to check there for any updates. Every time there has been a new race or there are updates, I will also make a post and update the thread title, so watch those for any sign of changes as well.
