Ok so I've been playing the demo a lot. I was playing pikachu vs lvl 9 Mario and I was on the ledge. We were on Omega Battlefield. He shot a high powered jet of water at me just as I got up from the ledge and it made my character fly straight upwards almost to death range. I haven't seen this bug reported before. And sadly I have nobody to replicate it with.

You probably hit the top of the water and it arced awkwardly. It happens in other games to me (although not as intense) and is just a funny little bug.
