The University of Texas is proud to present a PM and Melee monthly: M.V.P.!!!!
The location is WEL 3.502.
BRING SETUPS. We need everything, and a lot of it. If you can bring a setup, or even just a copy of the game, an extra cube, or CRT, PLEASE do. We also need power strips and extension cords. The more of these things we have, the more people we can have playing at once, and transitively the more awesome of an experience it is for all involved parties.

Pricing
Venue fee: $5
Melee/PM singles: $5
Melee/PM doubles: $5 ($10 per team)
Melee/PM singles payout:
1st: 60%
2nd: 25%
3rd: 10%
4th: 5%
Melee/PM doubles payout:
1st: 60%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 10%
Tournament Format:
PM and Melee doubles will be double elimination. Winners Semis, Losers Semis, and all finals will be best of 5, with all other sets being best of 3.
PM and Melee singles will both be run through round robin pools into a 16 man bracket. Top 8 in bracket matches are best of 5; all other bracket matches and pool matches are best of 3.
Placings in Singles Pools are determined based on:
1. number of sets won
2. winning percentage in games (win/loss ratio)
3. head-to-head winner
In the event of an X-way tie in Singles Pools after all tiebreakers are exhausted, a best-of-1 round robin will be played out between the X players until there is a clear order of placings.
MELEE Schedule:
11:00 am: Venue opens, free play/sign up
12:15 pm: doubles signups close
12:30 pm: doubles
3:00 pm: singles signups close
3:30 pm: pools start
7:00 pm: singles top 16 bracket, doubles finals, singles finals
PM Schedule:
11:00 am: Venue opens, free play/sign up
12:15 pm: doubles signups close
12:30 pm: doubles
2:00 pm: singles signups close
2:30 pm: pools start
6:00 pm: singles top 16 bracket, doubles finals, singles finals

You have 5 minutes to show up to your match. Failure to do so will result in the loss of game 1; if you do not show up within the next 5 minutes you lose the set.
