I looked all over for a tutorial on this, but I couldn't find one. Can anyone tell me how to make simple 2D stages, like the Mystic Cave Zone and the Hidden Palace Zone that were made? I want to try making some of my own stages like that, but I don't know how.

Basically, what I need to know are these things:

What programs do I need?
How do I make them in that program?
What files do I need?

Yeah and all that. If anyone knows of a tutorial about this, then if you could direct me to it then that would be helpful.

You're going to need...
Brawlbox (in Smash Workshop General, make sure you download the framework with it or it won't work)
The .pac's of the stages you wanna hack
You open up the pac file, preview the MLD0 files and edit them, I believe...

Okay, Cool! Once I've done that, how do I edit the collisions?
In the file go under the ARC labeled 2 and right click on the MiscData with a symbol that has the letters Coll. on it, then click preview. You can move collisions around by click with your mouse and dragging, and alt+click is to create new collisions. You can delete collisions with the delete key, and click and drag to select multiple collisions.

Well, I got my textures in it and everything, but I tried playing it and the whole thing was just blank white. I'm not sure what's wrong.

Also, I found the bones that you mentioned, Mr. Chuy, but what do I have to do to them to change the points? I couldn't seem to find any coordinates of where they are or anything... Is there not such a thing and am I doing it all wrong?

did you replace the asftank and asfsolider textures?
edit the x and y translation and you can preview them in the collision editor

Okay, I didn't se the X and Y ones before because I didn't see that I could scroll down there. XD

Yeah, I did edit those textures, I took some ones from Marble Garden Zone from Sonic 3, and I see them in the preview, but not ingame.
import them again but as under format try RBG565 and see if it works

Okay, I tried using some different pictures, and I did .tga's, and these ones worked. However, the front texture was in front of the characters, and you couldn't see them while you played, so I adjusted the Z-coordinate and I think that should be solved. The blast lines are way too close, however, and you explode before you hit the floor in some parts. What do I have to do to move them? I couldn't find what bone those were.
