I'm sure Darc will just replace charmander or something random with your name. If you want to move up, go to a tourney and beat people.

SoM has a way better combat system than Chrono Trigger. The only GREAT thing chrono trigger has was a hero with red hair, and SoM has that.
I just don't know what to say to you. You're speaking crazy talk. You might as well be saying "purple monkey dishwasher schoolbus jumping pepsi ducks".
The dual/triple techs in CT are amazing and I don't even think I've cast all the different combinations even after playing through it like 4 times. Plus Chrono Trigger has FROG. FUKKING FROG. And MAGUS. Oh and Nobuo Uematsu. Nobuo Uematsu > all.

Uematsu only wrote like, two tracks for the game.

And it's not like the music from Secret of Mana isn't fucking amazing. Also, Secret of Mana didn't have ******** DBZ-flavored character designs. And it's pretty hard to argue with multiplayer.

Chrono Trigger boasts a larger cast of playable characters, superior graphics, and multiple endings. That's about all it has going for it against Secret of Mana.

However, both games are very near and dear to me. I personally think it's a little silly to compare them.

In conclusion, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger are equally inferior to Final Fantasy VI.

Zoso makes a very good point. Both are on a pedestal of awesome that can't be matched by any other RPGs. Final Fantasy VI? I don't think I ever played that, unless you mean III (cause in Japan that was VI or something), which is amazing.

Indeed. VI in Japan was released as III in the US for the sake of continuity.

Hmm, Chrono Trigger's epic time-spanning storyline was also very captivating.
Not to mention the multiple endings meant that the replayability was through the roof.
Although, Secret of Mana isn't an RPG. More like an action/adventure game with RPG elements.

So basically, SNES > all

I agree, and I am really sad I can't find my copy of FFVI, I think I gave it to someone and never got it back

anyway, can we talk about how amazing my snes collection is yet?

I think the multiple endings in CT are boring. I never really found it interesting to just go through thegame over and over to see the different endings cause all I care about is game play and leveling up and such. /100 cents

I remember playing Super Metroid at a local "Nobody Beats the Wiz" to the point of almost peeing myself. There was actually a small line behind me waiting to get a turn.

Yasunori Mitsuda, actually. Uematsu worked on some tracks, but it was mostly Mitsuda's work.
I know but I like to think Uematsu was pulling all the strings

Also, Secret of Mana didn't have ******** DBZ-flavored character designs.
you're crazy

you're the one that started the comparison.

the only line I remember to play a video game would be when mortal kombat 2 came out in the arcade. it was like 20 people deep.

The rest of the soundtrack doesn't really fit with Uematsu's style at all.

you're crazy
Crono and SSJ4 Gogeta?
Lucca and Bulma?
Isai and David Blaine?

It's funny, because in the cinemas included in the FF Anthologies version, we see that Crono also has giant, ******** Saiyan muscles.

I played the awesome version on Genesis, I think.

That's the one that starts and ends the EXACT same way right?

edit// but in reverse

I think SM RPG is definitely one of the best for SNES, and if you don't agree with me you are wrong.

By one of the best I mean it is on par with the other RPGs we've been discussing.

Ho about Lufia II? Anyone?

Didn't I say to change the title of this topic to something about discussing my snes collection or something? That's all we've been doing for a while now anyway.
