I get into it from time to time, but not a huge fan (don't really have a fav. driver, just like watching for the sake of the sport )
And a quick question, are indy car races televised? Don't think I've happened up one before...

I'm not a big fan of racing, but I do watch F1 from time to time. I followed it quite intensely at one point back in high school.

Sometime back in the 40's or 50's.

1. Those races in the 50's were on straight streches of land, not circles.
2. Dictionary.com defines a sport as

an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature

While the latter part applies to NASCAR, there is nothing athletic about racing.

It might not be an athletic thing. It's just a motorsport that some people like.

well i'm into illegal street racing. sport compact/tuner cars are the ****. where i live we go out every saturday and hang out and street race. we are about 300 strong when we go out. it's gotten pretty popular...peace
