Luigi's Mansion Help?

I'm trying to get a gold diamond from a special plant under the balcony with Toad. I keep following the instructions, and no matter how many times I try, it won't give me the gold diamond!

Here's what I do:

First, I get the water and fight the dog, then I water the plant, then I beat the second boss (Bogmire), come back and water it, then I water it after the third boss (Boolossus), and that's all the instructions I have. I once even tried watering it BEFORE fighting the dog.

None of it works, though! It fully grows, but it doesn't spit out anything! When it fully grows, I can still see a bulge in the stem, but I don't know if it's supposed to be that way or not.

Please help!

Just keep watering it and keep coming in and out. That's what I did.

I figured it probably was glitched. But I'll try what YEAHDUDE!!! said first, and if it doesn't work, I probably will buy a new one.

Did you not water it all the way each time?

That's my only guess as it seems you've done the instructions correctly.

There's no gold diamond in Luigi's Mansion...........if your talking about a gold bar..........than that's a different story.

Yes there is.

It is the most valuable item in the game. There are 2 of them. 1 from the secret plant watering and the other for catching all the boos.

You basically need both to get the highest rank (A).

Don't tell me they don't exist, cause I just played the game again recently.
