:4luigi: has some sick jumps compared to :4mario:'s, but did you know the green machine can LAUNCH into the sky?

Just jump and interrupt it immediately with the Green Missile or Luigi Cyclone. Either one gives him what may be the most effective (double) jump in the game. [Mashing the button makes the Luigi Cyclone method go even higher.]

As a recovery option, you only have one shot; If you get launched away after the jump, you'll have to make it the old-fashioned way.

EDIT:

Can you provide any kind of video evidence? Without it, we need some kind of worded walkthrough, although forom what you said, it's just jump then Missile. I don't have a capture card or anything, but I'll test it on the 3ds.

I added footage to the main post.

With a Gamecube Controller, you need to cover the special and jump buttons; Its harder on the famous control scheme unless you change :GCLT: or :GCRT: to jump. :urg:

Yeah, 3ds control scheme. Even so, nice find to aid Luigi's rather average recovery.

I've just tested it. It seems you just have to press Jump then Side B very fast. Also, doing this out of a footstool gives insane height.

This has been known for a very long time. You can also rise with the cyclone without having to jump first, but it's pretty hard.

Ah. See, I don't play Luigi. Oh well. Just leave it here, somebody will learn something.

It's been known for quite some time now.
If you don't use the Luigi Cyclone after a double jump, you will really need to mash a lot to gain any sort of distance.
