Luigi without wavedashing

I'm so psyched that Luigi is in Brawl, but with that said, how is he going to be without his wavedashing? I cannot even picture him without wavedashing. I've been loyal to the Plumber Man all this time but how will he be playable without him sliding everywhere, is he really playable? I can't picture him running around with his horrible dash attack. I hope they improved on those two parts at least since they took out his mobility.

So without wavedashing, how many Luigi mains still want to main the Green Man?

Me, Luigi is one of my favorite fighters, even if his moves get totally changed.

I'll still main him. No matter how bad he becomes I'll still main him, but I hope that he has
been buffed up so that he's mid tier.

I´ve been using luigi a lot in tourneys too with decend placements...
I will be interested in seeing what Luigi will turn out to be, assuming most, if not all characters movement got slower, a lack of wavedashing probably might not kill luigis gameplay, assuming he has decend mobility on ground, and those super nairs :D

He's not sliding after he runs anymore? Really?

On which video did you see that, and can you post it on this board?

The New Benefits For Luigi To Compensate for WD (not really):

1. Traction Fixed Meaning He is Easier To Control. (Don't Flame Me, I miss Wavedash)
2. His Up B Arcs again but has a bad falling animation sucks if you miss.
3. His Aerials shown in the Target Test are WAAAY too hacker. He did like Two Nairs to a fair without almost any lag.
4. I think one of his taunts is doing some Italian pose grabbing his nose and moving his hand forward.

I got all that watching two videos over and over.

Actually his dash attack has been improved. He does his rolling fists, then does a two fist slam down that sends the reciever in a horizontal flight outward. Check out the Luigi FS video. It's in there.

I've never wave dashed in my life and so that won't affect me, overall Luigi looks better than in Melee and I can't wait.

Well that says a lot about how you play.

Though I'm a falco/fox main (lol redundancy) I do like playing as luigi because of his low traction. It's fun sliding around then hitting your opponent with a downsmash or grabbing them :D

People are saying his traction is better but that just doesn't sound *Luigi* Know what I mean?

Oh well. I strongly doubt I'll play as him now since WDing is out. Though his FS makes me laugh

Until a couple of weeks ago I'd never even heard of wave dashing. Heck, I knew nothing of the competetive play style at all!

I was blissfully ignorant holed away at home playing against my brother until I searched for melee battles on youtube and I became aware of how truly clueless I was...all the advanced techniques and combos just seem too much like work

oh god, he's FS looks pretty fun man, i can say that too, whati wanted is WD in the game, because that was what balanced luigi vs all the other characters, in melee he was too slow, now thers not WD, but is something new, so maybe he would be good, i beg he is XD

Europe; you do the math.
What some people are forgetting is that although in Melee advanced techniques (mostly WDing) allowed Luigi to hold his own against opponnents, it was these same ATs that also benefitted opponents. In other words, ATs helped Luigi out, but they also helped out his opponents. Sure, the character which benefitted most from the wavedash was Luigi, but how, do you think, would he have fared against other characters if nobody could wavedash, or L-cancel for that matter? What I'm saying is: No wavedash in Brawl does not only affect Luigi, it affects all the others as well. Does it affect him the most? Perhaps, but that's when you're trying to play Brawl as if you were playing Melee. And Brawl isn't Melee.

In short, don't worry about it, Luigi doesn't need wavedashing to kick some major behind.

The game is totally different... He is totally different...

His moves are the same but they hit you differently than in melee... and he has uber combo potential if you look at vids or posts by people who have played him...

I really really wish people would just drop wavedashing... it's gone... get over it... Brawl is NEW... all the characters are NEW... it won't be necessary anymore... think outside the box... find new luigi combos with the brand new mechanics of brawl...

Thanks Losnar... one of my favorite games ever :)

I never learned Wavedashing. I've tried and Luigi's wavedash is bomb. But i can't really tech with it in melee. So I'm good.
It probably sucks for those who have adjusted to it in melee though.

I used to WD with luigi in melee quite often, but not all the time. I'm sure I'll do fine without it. I used the tornado move like crazy in melee and it's only gotten better.
