Luigi Questions

Ok I gots some questions:
Is it just me or is it true that when you are crouching--> crawling towards someone and you use tornado, it goes significantly farther than just using it and holding that direction?

Also what are good methods for getting down from the air (past someone who is ready to Usmash the **** out of you)? I find it difficult to do on Lucario because his Utilt hits for so long.(I cant air dodge it.)

Finally, is it best to recover with tornado or side b?

i dont know about the 1st one but as far as getting down from being airborne, id say mix it up with a tornado or dair, depending on who you are fighting and for recovering, its all situational
hope this helps :ohwell:

Luigi should be able to get out of utilts alot easier due to his floatness. He has a few tricks up his sleeve onto getting back from being juggled around. For the crouching tornado thinggy question. I have no clue. Probably will test it around if I get the time. For the time being out of my knowledge no.

To break out Lucario's utilt. Try DI-ing away from him while airdodging. You can also use Nair to break it, but likely you'll take the hit and so will he. Basically trading hits. You can try jumping away but I haven't tried yet. Learn how to space yourself, getting down from air to ground with the tornado I think is the best method. Lucario's upsmash has some slight startup lag too.

It's best to recover with both green missle and tornado but used for different purposes. If your hit flying above, you can charge a green missle and aim for the ledge and sweetspot. (His head has to be slightly below from the ledge).

The tornado is used as a last resort if your unable to recover from a offstage attack. It can also be used to ruin oppenents who are trying to gimp you because if their caught on the rising tornado, the tornado can send them to a angle where they can't recover.

i did some testing, it turns out it does go further but its almost unnoticeable, if you want the extra 3 cm, go for crawling -> tornado

edit: ok i did even more testing and it brings you further than i thought, im bad at testing apparently. it does bring you about 1 luigi's (yes, hes now a unit of measurement) further

Thats what i thought. My friend suggested that it was probably the momentum, but i tested it by running first and it didn't work. I'm not sure why crawling makes it go farther  but i dont really care cuz its helpful in some situations.:chuckle:

If that's true, a crouched tornado would be useful against an opponent who knows how to space luigi's downb, if only minimally.

Does the extended tornado increase the distance traveled or add an extra hit? This could be useful if the latter is true (more hits = more damage), but even the first has it's uses.

Hey Hippiedude92, you judged my video that i posted earlier today.

In your last post you mentioned tilting the uairs, how does it affect the move when tilted.

Faithkeeper: i tested it as well, it only increases the distance traveled as far as i can tell, but i'll look into the damage count as well when i get the chance to use the wii.

You do gain an extra "luigi" in measurement when you crouch into the downB (lol).

Whoops. What I meant to say was, if you have tap jump off, you can do up angled* (yeahh.. tilt and angle not the same much?) up angled fsmash. All you have to do is C-stick forward and hold the control stick up so that way it'll be up angled and sent to a upangled tracjectory.

Oh ok, i thought you meant that. I wanted to play it safe just in case there was some new dimension where luigi can tilt his uairs O_O.

Thanks for the clear up.
