Lucas is hard to play with online

Ive noticed that Lucas is extremely difficult to play with online. The lag is terrible and takes away from Lucas's superior fighting skills. I noticed Im 100% better offline with Lucas than I am online. Lucas is just not a wifi character, but he is still top tier material:) And he is not the only one, Ive noticed that Zelda and Wario r also terrible online. The heavy characters have an advantage...Ike, Ganon, Bowser, DK, D3....since they r already slow the lag doesnt affect them as much as the others.Am i right?

So Lucas mains if u lost a match online horribly and dont know why, its not your lack of skill, its the lag:)
Does anyone agree?

Can we discuss:)

That's for me to know
Yeah, if there is one thing that I dislike a lot, it is Wi-fi. That lag that it has messes up so many fast characters and so many strategies. Dodges and rolls lag and your moves don't come out a quickly. I really wouldn't blame someone (Unless it was meta knight) for having a really terrible loss. Meta Knight doesn't count cause his moves come out quickly anyways so he can use that lag as a opportunity to gimp you T_T.

Yeah, Lucas is a character hurt by lag. The slow ones you are bright about, they care nothing about lag, but Lucas is a character that requires perfect spacing and timing. Not to mention PK Thunder recovery is piss hard with lag :crying:

I was playing an online tourney with some people from another forum and I lost in the first round due to in-aimable PKT. It sucked. Use a secondary if you're playing with serious lag.

Mh, Ness is just as bad or even worse than Lucas online. His PKT is a bit harder to control under lag.

I tend not to use Lucas online. If I do, I pick a stage where it'll be easier to recover, because recovering with PK Thunder + lag is not fun.

A few things that Lag adds to Lucas's game is, easy bair spiking- less time to react, nair->utilt->utilt->uair, however you want to do it. Because lag messes with air dodging times.

I think it helps leading into forward smashes, like with sh nairs or full hopped down airs.

Reaction times to his semi quick moves such as, PKT2.

These are all opinions. feel free to agree/disagree

PKT2, if you always approach the corner at a certain angle, it's pretty easy. It just gets hard when you try to angle it.

I mostly have problems approaching with aerials(except nair) and my opponents almost always hit me first while Im trying to attack them, they even cancel out some of my attacks like up smash and side smash.
Is it priority or is it the lag?

Yeah I have noticed that too when I'm online so when that happens I just try sticking to dealing as much possible without using side smashes and aerials.

Lucas isn't as bad as some other characters online, like fox. unless your lag is extreamly bad he's ok. PKT2 is hard to land unless your at that perfect angle, but its better than trying to land Ness'. and it seems easier to hit people with PK fire and Fair for me.

I have a really hard time dealing with my aerial game online. I've gotten used to it, but when the lag is really abnormal and I'm not used to it, it totally throws my game off completely.

My only real problem with your complaint is that I can pretty much guarantee everyone is better off line.

I do find that when people get struck by PKT2, they probably would have dodged it if it were offline. Online lag really screws people up when it comes to dodging some of Lucas' big Area of Effect (AoE) attacks.

It's tough to get spacing down. Projectile spam is okay, but it only takes you so far before people get wise to it.

It just depends on who you play with. Most people you play with will have a lot of input delay ranging from annoying to unplayable... but there'll be a few odd games where the connection is great.
