I was messing around in training mode I found out that by B-sticking PKF as you run off the edge, then magnet pulling, then using you second jump and PKT you can go all the way from one side of FD to the other. You can even do it without the magnet pull! It is far easier with it though.
Also I would like to note that once I slid off the edge while using PKT (I know you can do this to use it faster) but this time I almost instantly used it back horizontally across the stage. I tried to do it again a couple times but only succeeded in killing myself very fast instead. That would be a great offensive tool if we could find out the exact way to make it happen.

One last thing I discovered is that by SHRARing right next to the edge and immediately using the rope snake you can attach to the edge very fast. The only use for this I could think of is as a tool against Olimar (and Ivysaur I guess), although we might be able to find another use for it.

everytime i'm 2 stocks up from my opponent, i go under FD
vs some characters like marth or c. falcon, i SHRAR to rope snake, then wait for them to use his upB, and then i tap up to grab the edge and gain the invicibility frames. Anyways, i prefer to shrar bair (if spike), jump, rope snake or shrar bair (not spike), jump, bair, pkt2 to the stage

Whenever I play against Peach, Fox, Falco, Wolf, Bowser, Jigglypuff, or any other characters who have similar Final Smashes, I use the Rope Snake continuously to keep myself out of range of their FS. Fox, Falco and Wolf usually don't fly down to get you, since they can get stuck under a ledge, Jigglypuff just can't move, Bowser might fall and die, and Peach's FS won't hit you if you're holding onto an edge.

Of course... I doubt they have Final Smashes on in competitive play.

^^^ correct. Unless you go to EVO (Don't)

As for the ropesnake edgehog thing, hugging is better. Basically, run off the edge, and hold towards it. If you don't get it right away, do it with metaknight, he's pretty much the easiest one to do it with.

But circling fd is so fun. Sandbagging is one of lucas's strong suits.

Levitas, if you are on the run, I think the rope snake is faster or just as fast if you Auto RAR

Is it just me, or can you only grab the edge and drop off of it with the rope snake 3 times? After that, it wont grab the edge until you stand on solid ground.

Yeah after the third one it won't work. The snake pulls you toward the ledge slightly but won't grab on. Pretty interesting if you try jumping above the ledge and immediately doing your fourth snake tether because it pulls you downward.
