Lucario vs. Sheik (matchup thread)

Lucario boards are currently discussing Sheik in our matchup thread. If you want to simply express how you feel about the match, you're more than welcome to do so in either this thread or in the link given. We'd appreciate any input/debate/discussion/whatever from any Sheik mains who feel they can contribute to the matchup, thanks!

Also, I think it's worth asking how you would use Zelda in this match. I originally believed that any time Zelda would be pulled out by a Sheik player would be to kill off their opponent because they couldn't get the gimp or whatever with Sheik...but now I'm hearing there's different methods to using Zelda than just killing? Any word on that would be cool.

In my personal experience as playing as both Sheik and Lucario, an intelligent sheik would go zelda. Zelda seems to be a relatively good counter to most of Lucario's attacks. Though I have noticed that while getting the crap kicked out of me, once I reach higher damage and the hitbox for Lucario increases, I have a much easier time fighting. Once the hitbox of Lucario outranges Zelda's hitbox, the Lucario player shouldn't have too much trouble fighting. As far as Lucario v. Sheik, I'm not sure what the advantages/disadvantages would be for either. I think that since Lucario has a higher priority and hitbox than Sheik does with most of her attacks, Lucario would have an advantage if spaced properly. Lucario's slow smashes would probably hurt him though because Sheik would most likely be able to counter the smash before it is even executed. That is really the only input I have and I may be entirely wrong with that but that is what I have found through my own experiences.

i gimp all the lucario players i fight against and usually have a field day, maybe i just dont have a problem? or maybe the lucarios i play aren't good *shrugs*

sheik has a hard time killing people and Lucario gets very strong at high percentages...kind of sucks eating a dair at 90% and dying....

Maybe I've just managed to time my attacks better and it seemed like my hitbox was larger... My mistake.

it seems like my hitboxes are larger when i play lucario at higher percents as well. at least for a few of my attacks.

i have trouble staying as shiek in this sort of a battle due to shieks trouble with killing (well more so then zelda)

though it does help once you get the timing down on right as lucario uses his up+b you can constantly hit him when he does this sometimes.

but overall i suggest going to zelda and staying as zelda. you can reflect his balls and spam him with din. your smashes also kill him usually around 90% (as long as you didnt spam them =X)

lucario IMO has an advantage i dont know exactally how much if i had to ballpark i would say 70/30.
