I think its just about time we hear some nice poetry form this thread so to start us of, this is kokiri forest by haiku of kasuto.net;

I yearn for the kokiri forest.

In spring, the trees and flowers are in bloom.

In fall, trees turn orange and red, and look like fire.

In winter, the pine trees look beatiful with rings of snow on there branches,

and I sit by the fire of friends house, sipping hot tea and talking away the hours.

But, alast, I am on a quest!

For if I decide to go to kokiri forest, I will only get to savor these things once more.

Then, the evil will sweep of the forest, and the chilldren will hide in there houses, afraid of the invaders from outside.

There will be destruction, and violence. Kokiri forest would be no more than an empty forest, inhabited by monsters.

I yearn for kokiri forest, but now I am off!

I will see you again, friends and forest!

For I have a quest, and to neglect it would mean all of our ends.

So good-bye and so long, for it is time to go.

Huh. Never thought I'd see this thread pop up. Rather than just posting other peoples' poetry though I would advise writing your own, otherwise this won't serve much of a purpose.

In future I will, but just for an opening, I chose to use an experienced poets.

 

[Mewter]

He lived in Kokiri forest, a green place, it's true
that everyone in that village was known and knew
Everyone. It was quite the peaceful place
Until the Great Deku Tree was staring death in the face

Link knew he had to save him, and to do it right
He had to venture deep and kill the parasite
But when he got back out, he knew it was too late
The Deku Tree spoke few words and then turned to slate.

He spoke of an evil man who's cunning was unsurpassed
An evil army of monsters was which he would amass
If Link wanted to stop him, he had to do it fast.

Through canyons, mountains, and rivers, the green kid had to be clever
Which way did he go, should he hit that lever?
He gathered many items and friends along the way
And fought the giant octorok which was kinda gay.

But then Ganon invaded Hyrule and took it under his wing.
With the power of his newfound glowing thing
On his right had lay the power to obliterate
Exterminate, annihilate.
But the princess ran the gate
Before it was too late, and Ocarina left for a later date.

Seven years in the future
Comes a man with evil's bane of a sword.
The world almost under control,
He could not afford
To have Ganon become the triforce's overlord.

Beating down minions of Ganondorf
Chasing down ghostly sisters carrying torches
Fighting flying dragons whose fire scorches
And filling Hylia's lake with the water stolen by the Morph.

He was recollecting the medallions
Solving puzzles and
Saving a Gerudo in the desert of the sand
Destroying the evil shadow lurking in the well,
The witches who beggetted Ganondorf had fell
But not before Zelda was kidnapped as well

The sages had returned and now it was time to fight
Master Sword and Link crossed the trail of light
Over the pit of lava at such a height
Into Hyrule castle in the smokey dead of night

Deactivating the energy field, slashing with the sword only a hero could wield
He made it up to the floor
Organ heard through the door
All three bearers of the triforce were together once more.

The fight was intense, it flashed, it stung
Sometimes Link was hanging by a rung
Ganon charging up a giant writhing ball of dung.
But Link whipped out his Light Arrows in time
and shot him full of arrows after the tennis he did mime.

Ganon fell, and his tower too, but not until Zelda and our warrior had made it through
Twisting tunnels and dangerous corridors
Threatened by the impact of falling meteors
Ganon was not done though, it was his fate
to end Link and Zelda's life as he rose, full of hate

Link's master sword was spun around
It was out of the now flaming ring, and hit the ground

A tedious battle was fought and won
When Link distracted Ganon, reached for his Master Sword, and the conflict was done.
The purpose was reached for which the Master Sword was built.
The only thing outside the raging Ganon's nose was the gleaming blade's hilt.

Finally, it was over. All was fine. They could go back to dine!
But then Zelda sent Link back, and created a Split Timeline.
