Sorry for the delay, but here is the Fall Season (May-August) Power Rankings for Louisiana Smash 4. While the top 3 have cemented themselves at some of the highest level of play in the game, those who follow them show that they can be threats of their own. The second half of this PR was extremely tough to decide as almost everyone is approaching the same skill level right behind the top 4. Thank you all who have made this scene what it is and to all of those who have pushed each other to be better. Without further ado, here is the PR



Samsora

Rank: 1 (±0)

Main: Peach

Secondary: Rosalina



While his dominance in state hasn’t been as solid as last season, there is no doubt that Samsora has earned his spot as #1 in LA. While his worst placing in state is #2, he has made waves OoS beating top players such as MJG, his demon Jerm, Dj fliphop, Captain Zack (instate and out), and double eliminating the EVO Champ, Ally, at CCC.


Notable OoS placings:

CEO 2016: 49th

Clutch City Clash: 2nd

Main: Bayonetta



After completely devoting himself to the wicked witch, Zack’s threat as one of the best Bayonetta the world has been proven this season. With stunning performances at TGC 8 (placing 4th) and CCC (placing 5th) and elegant wins over the likes of Mr. E, MegaFox, Mew2King, Esam, and Fatality there is no doubt that he has earned his #2 spot on the LA PR.

Brawlman1000

Rank: 3 (New?)

Secondary: Cloud


Brawlman1000 has returned home for the summer and has show his utter dominance and the lack of sonic knowledge in LA. Just kidding, he bodies almost everyone inside and out of LA with his most notable win being over Mew2King. He has taken sets off of Samsora while in state and had dominance against everyone else besides those above him. If you are lucky enough to see this man running through his bracket at light speeds, you might catch a glimpse of him eating his favorite snack, a chili dog.


Brawlerg31

Rank: 4 (-1)

Main: Little Mac

Secondaries: Cloud/Ryu


While others had said his success might be due to players’ inexperience in the matchup, Brawlerg31 has KO punched those thoughts to the blastzone. While having one upset this season (Axis), he has shown that regardless of if he is having a good day or not, Loser’s Gabe doesn’t take **** from nobody and he will punch you till his fist are numb. While he doesn’t have anything crazy like a JV3 or taking 10 stocks in a crew battle this season, his solid record against everyone besides the top 3 lands him at #4 this season.



Creatious

Rank: 5 (±0)

Main: Rosalina

Secondary: Mario


Creatious shows us that regardless of how stupid luma he, he can handle himself even if he doesn’t always have her and he does not sandbag. Even though he hasn’t been in Louisiana for most of the second half of the season, he regularly attended tournaments in florida and didn’t falter in those tournaments. Unfortunately, all attempts to reduce Creatious’ 5 second input delay IRL have failed.


Co-op

Rank: 6 (+5)

Main: Diddy Kong

Secondary: Sonic [Kyle (OC pls dont steal)]


If this PR was ranked by the amount of real bananas you brought to a tournament, there would be no contest as to where he would land. Luckily, his placings are consistent enough to secure the #6 spot. It is said that he still suffers from PTSD every time he standard getups on the ledge into a marth tipper, but his new spindashing partner might be the key to more success in the upcoming season.


Axis

Rank: 7 (+3)

Main(s): Marth/Greninja


As one of the most improved players this season, Axis seals his spot with consistent placings and a win over #4 Brawlerg31. Just like last season, his placings brought him and Co-op to an almost tie with him losing the battle this season. However, Axis’ mastery of his characters is starting to show and he will be one of the biggest threats in the upcoming season.


Combo

Rank: 8 (New)

Main: Captain Falcon

Secondary: Fox


While Combo isn’t new to the scene, his appearance on the PR is a first. As those below him, Combo had a subpar start to the season (which is directly proportional to how many times he falcon kick’d in his matches). His playstyle can only be described as the little brother that looks up to Fatality’s falcon. He isn’t playing to win, he’s playing to style. His wins on Champ, BSP, and Clutch land him at #8.


Champ

Rank: 9 (-2)

Main(s): Luigi/Villager


Champ also slides down with his fellow gatekeeper. Mr. Not Even 5th place started to slowly drop into lower placings for a few tournaments until he realized that the year of luigi never ended. He has slowly started to rise again in placings, especially after he realized he needed to speak up against those who didn’t believe in him and he won’t be silenced.



Clutch

Rank: 10 (-2)

Main(s): Villager/Pikachu


Clutch keeps up his gatekeeper status of PR as he moves to the edge this season. While early on it was thought that he was losing his touch, his placings as the season went on showed that he isn’t someone to sleep on. It’s rumored that once the mod pack that replaces Clutch with the Chillager costume that he will ascend to the next level.



ATG | TheForkies

Rank: Honorable Mention (-7)

Main: Meta Knight

Secondary: Literally everyone


When he isn’t getting 3-0’d by his wife and daughter, TheForkies is able to put on an effective showing with his counterpicking ability to play almost every member of the cast and still do well. Even though he has the best goofy impression when singing Evanscence’s “Wake me up” out of everyone on the PR, he still was quite inactive this season and lands himself a solid HM this season.



RJ

Rank: Honorable Mention (New)

Main: Donkey Kong


After finally ding donging the joke that he never attends tournaments, RJ makes his debut on the PR this season. While he has impressive placings (especially his win on Capt. Zack) that could easily land him somewhere in the middle of the PR, the rule that you have to attend tournaments in both halves of the season holds RJ back from getting a legitimate spot this season.
