Looking to TO my first tournament

Hey guys! My friends and I are looking to TO our first tournament in the next couple of months. We already have a potential venue and all, but we've never really run a tournament before.

For the other organizers here on the site, what are some things we should know to run the tournament smoothly? Hopefully we can get 40-50 people, and I'm sure there are some nuances and little things that we may overlook when it comes running these things. What advice can you all give for running these tournaments? What are some things that you all have done to make your tournaments unique, and what have you all done to add your group's personalities to the atmosphere of the tournaments?

I think you're going to have better luck going to other sections and directly PMing smaller TOs, very few people in General Discussion are actually going to have any ability to help you out. Good luck!
