Hi everyone,

I would like to try my hand at making smash related videos. However, I'm not sure where to start and know nothing about the process, tools or basically anything about what it takes to make a video of this sort. The last time I used any video editing software was around 5 or 6 years ago in a Tv production class in High School, needless to say all of that has been forgotten. So yeah any advice is greatly appreciated. I already have some vague ideas about videos that I want to make but I'd rather not reveal those because surprises are more fun.

Thanks for the help and I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

it's been awhile myself since I've recorded tournament sets, but here's some basic info

Most smashers use a capture card to record. It's up to you how high quality you want yours to be. I bought a really cheap one and found the quality fine for me personally. It was only like 13 bucks and the quality looked like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsLaCELLHBs

I believe it was this one that I bought: http://www.amazon.com/EasyCAP-Audio-Capture-Surveillance-Dongle/dp/B000Z4AQFU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374874278&sr=8-2&keywords=capture card

People nowadays kinda expect better-looking quality though ><

Most cards come with editing software which should work fine for your purposes. If not there's always other programs out there you can research. You shouldn't have to edit very much. Just export the sets into a mov or avi file onto your desktop and upload them to your youtube account

Anything specific you'd like to know?
