Is there a dash dance tier list? I know that Fox, Marth, CF and Roy should be high up there, but in which order?

I don't know if you need a tier list, but theirs a lot that goes into a dash dance. It's not just what it is, but how its used.

The speed, and the length is all subjectively diverse due to the extreme amount of scenarios.

I re-read what I wrote and realize it was kind of useless. I didn't mean to insult your question or make it sound dumb. Just, universally, it's important to understand the options and advantages of each Dash Dance. DD is a skill, players are better at it than others. It's important to work on it, and this is a good good question because it shows you're trying to develop a deeper understanding of DD fundamentals.

Even though the majority dislike Sheik's DD, their are ways to use it for a benefit. Although it may not reap as much of a benefit as like Fox's, it's still important to simply understand it's value for what it is, not necessarily compare it :)

Again, sorry if I came off as a jerk, I think it was a great question. I know I still didn't answer it, but that's because I wanted to answer it in my own way. more in depth, and less like a jerk.~

I'd just look for the info for all character's, look for initial dash and run speed, initial dash is how far the first dash can go, if you pause mid DD you can also see a "standing" frame, although very difficult to pull of consistently, high level players use this to input a move which is called a pivot e.g Marth can pivot a F smash and catch you off guard pretty easily if you don't expect it, generally the faster/further your initial dash goes, the more potential you'll have to your DD, but also will be hardest to control, i found DD a very hard technique when i started, to practice i'd actually look at my thumb :p.

DDing can be easily punished so you need to be very weary using this tactic, it is generally used to make the opponent expect an attack and hopefully set you up for a punish by the opponent commiting to something
