Long-time Smasher in his twilight years wants to play a little more competitively :P

I've played Smash since the beginning (N64) but little more than an awesome party/summer vacation game. I've played all entries except for the Wii U/3DS iterations.

The concept of having a main character never occurred to me until picking up SSBU and watching some streams and YouTube videos. I guess I enjoy Mario most with a sprinkling of Luigi, Link, and Bowser/DK and some others thrown in for fun.

I joined SmashBoards seeking a community, gameplay information, practice partners etc. I'm currently in Vegas and I would like to attend events and be more competitive but in addition to not being very good, I'm also older than your average smasher hah. I'm in my early 30s and now find myself with more free time than I had in my 20s getting school/family/life stuff accomplished.

I'm a big baseball nerd (grew up on the East Coast) and have been gaming since I was 2 (or so I'm told). I like platform games mostly, but enjoy the random RPG, Pokémon Entry, and fighting games.

Awesome post! Haha. I'm in my late late 20s and I'm finishing up grad school still (while working my 9 to 5), so I'm not quite where you are, but I bet your story will be mine in a year or two once I finish it! Best of luck!
