Live Music at Tournaments

I am a trombone player living in NYC and I was wondering if there is any interest from tournament organizers and tournament goers for live performances of video game music at tournaments. I've always admired the music in many Nintendo games and have arranged several already for Brass Quintet. The Fantasy Brass plays for events with some really great arrangements and I think it'd be cool to have that kind of thing for tournaments more often. Here's a great recording of them playing.

I think it'd be hype to play a fanfare for the winning character after sets in late rounds on stream too.

Anyway, contact me if you think you'd be interested in something like this and post on the thread if you have any ideas about it as well.

Thanks!

I had a group of chiptune musicians at one of my events. I think they were disapointed with the amount of recognition they got during the event. The feedback I got from players was that the music was pretty hype and enjoyable. I think it would be great to have TOs give small garage bands a slight gig.

I really love this idea, the only issue I see is tips/paying the band. If you don't mind just paying out of pocket then no biggie... but the sad truth is: gamers are poor. Thus they might not tip well or be willing to pay for more venue fee.

However, since most musicians want to get their name out there... just keep asking people/stream monsters to like their page or share a link or something.

Well I suppose the venue fee could partially go to funding them.

I would try to approach it as "you get a crowd and venue to play at". Most small bands will play anywhere and for free. If they ask for anything over $50 tell those prima donnas to screw off.
