Little Mac is the New Roy!

Yup, he's Roy. Discuss.

(this was brought up because I had two Melee Roy mains, yes I know two of them, independently tell me they wanted to main Little Mac.)

When I read the title, I thought, "Not worth using unless you're a fan of the character because there's someone else who can do everything he does, but better?"

Sorry, I'm not a big Roy fan.

I would say that he is what Roy should have been. A fastfalling, light weight character has two defects that put them at a big disadvantage to start with. Little Mac actually makes up for though by having speed and a good ground game. Roy lacked those qualities. It honestly feels like Roy was designed to be a garbage Marth, two really bad defects, slower than Marth, 2 meteors instead of spikes and they don't even send the opponent down, and not one of his hits sent people anywhere. I think Roy players, all 12 of them, may immediately feel comfortable due to similar weight and falling speeds, however Little Mac will play nothing like Roy considering Little Mac seems capable of doing things.

I'm a Roy main, and when I started looking closely at Mac's reveal, I really did get a few flashbacks. Everything shown about him seems to out-do -- or at the very least, match -- what Roy did, and that's not a bad thing. While I'm still looking forward to playing Rosalina the most of the announced newcomers, Little Mac has caught my attention, and he certainly has potential to become my main.

Here's hoping he has a stupidly amazing down tilt just like the prince of Pherae himself.

He doesn't really have a good reach though. And he's a lot faster, and has quicker moves.

If anything, he's the new Captain Falcon.

This doesn't deserve it's own thread. I feel it would be better suited in the Little Mac discussion thread.

So unless someone convinces me that this comparison is actually important, I feel that this should be locked.
