Lip and Jill, unassumingly cute, immeasurably dangerous.

At any rate, while I'm somewhat neutral on Lip (although I almost want her in if only for the lulz that will ensue with Tedius Zanarukando's reaction), I'm all for Jill's inclusion because a) in her miniature Drill Dozer mecha, there will be no other character even remotely similar to her (diversity is the spice of life, after all) and b) Game Freak needs a representative in Smash that ISN'T Pokemon (srsly Sakurai, no moar pokeymans... unless they're mudkips.). I guess I could have also made mention of the deficiency of the opposite sex in Smash, but that was the gist of this thread anyway. At any rate, Jill FTW!

My initial response wasn't meant to be a reason or explanation in the first place... Like most nonsense you find on the Internet, it's simply for lulz. But yeah, I guess it's not for everyone...
At any rate, getting back on topic, I just think that it would be good for there to be a non-Pokémon represetative from Game Freak, and Jill fits the bill perfectly. Lip would be good too I guess, but I'd much rather have it be Advanced Wars and/or Battle Clash (as unlikely a choice as it is...) as the additional non-Fire Emblem representaton from Intelligent Systems.

That type of humor is something that either you'd get or you wouldn't, so there wasn't any sense in explaining it, though I guess you could say I provided an "example" - really though, I just thought that I'd have some fun with the comment. But again, getting off topic so moving on...

Reading this thread a week or so ago inspired me to get myself a copy of Drill Dozer... which wasn't straightforward, as it didn't get a European release. Well, I'm hooked on the game, and I'd love to see Jill make an appearance in Brawl. A three-dimensional Drill Dozer would be a wonder to behold...

They're not terribly popular.

I think the references to Lip that were in Melee might be enough to mean he was interested in her even back then. Garbage block stone power Kirby and, obviously, Lip's Stick. Maybe this time she'll actually be present.
